I don't drink it at all, that's my wife's glass. It's not bad though, but it is certainly too sweet for me.

Starting with the Aberlour from my pre-holiday buy. It's the new(ish?) Casg Annamh, a small batch expression matured in Oloroso sherry casks & two different types of American oak ones. 98 proof! I've had (and loved) numerous bottles of their cask strength sherry monster, a' bunadh, so I'm looking forward to this one.



Edit to add: it's really good.

Cinnamon & fire from the high proof as an opening salvo, expanding into a nice fruity roundness from the Oloroso, followed by loads of oaky backbone & finishing on long buttery legs dipped in honey. Great Scotch.

I had a nice pour of Eagle Rare 10 last night and I really enjoyed it. I loved how smooth it was, with a vanilla sweetness. Gonna try to keep a few bottles on hand, at all times.

Grabbed a bottle of Red Spot a little bit ago. Poured a few fingers and it is delicious.

Nothing fancy, just been a while since I picked up some crown. I was also gifted this little chocolate bottle from a buddy at work. It was filled with a tablespoon or so of Famous Grouse scotch and it was damn good. He doesn’t know where his brother got them, and all I can find online are infused chocolate bars. Has anyone seen these or know where to find them?

I don't know of that one specifically, but I think big box stores like Bevmo and Total Wine have some of those liquor filled chocolates. That would be the first place I'd look.

You know, in high school I used to buy liquor filled chocolates like that at Macy’s. Famous Grouse is good stuff. It’s the most popular scotch in Scotland.
