Speaking of Joni and Woodstock, Joni Mitchell, Jefferson Airplane, Steve Stills and David Crosby on Dick Cavett the day after Woodstock

I have never watch a minute of that show, but I feel I will be taking a deep dive at some point... I laughed out loud when the host said and 4 of them are my sponsors, referencing Crosby's criticism of the car industry... 🤣

Trivia Thursday (I know today isn't Thursdat - I'm late)

Madman Across The Water was recorded for Elton John's Tumbleweed Connection album. Unlike the piano heavy country tinged songs of the rest of the record, this song was a 9 minute guitar driven opus led by Mick Ronson who Elton had heard when Mick was working on David Bowie's album The Man Who Sold The World.

This version was not the one used on the Madman Across The Water Album. Elton re-recorded that with Caleb Quaye doing a shortened and toned down guitar part to better fit the piano driven style of his record. It was 30 years before the original was included in the Deluxe reissue of Tumbleweed Connection.

2014 Santa Barbra Bowl outdoors over looking the Pacific Ocean. Spent all day at the beach and the docks with some close friends smoking and drinking, prepping for the concert. High that day was like 72 with temps dropping into the lower 60's by the time Foster the People came on stage... Sylvan Esso was the opening act... A day and night, I will never forget... They opened with this track...

A couple video clips from GroupLove a couple weeks back... As usual the videos don't do them justice... We were in a SRO section that put us standing at stage height, so we had perfect view...
