Grateful Bruce

My brother's wife is a Jersey shore girl from Freehold so we have an affinity for the music that came from there. Almost nothing else musically beyond that though. So when the show was announce my brother decided that having the family who could and wanted to come get together at Citizens Bank Park to celebrate her birthday and see the show would be a great idea. So the day before we all descend on his house with sleeping bags and air mattresses in tow and have a birthday dinner that night. My brother lives about 20 miles from the stadium and worked in Philly all his life so he had a plan that we would drive his van with all 8 of us to Pat's for cheese steaks about 4 then drive to a garage he knew near the subway and take that to the park avoiding the traffic coming and going.

We get to the park a little after 6 for the 7:30 show and the place is already 3/4 full. Without a doubt Philly is the best town to see Bruce in as he is considered a home town hero. It was Philly that in a large part introduced Bruce to the rest of the country. Little did we know that this would be an epic show. It had everything you expect, Knee drops, solos, sing a longs, extended classic songs, some acoustic and all those lyrics that we knew by heart. 34 song spanning 4 hours and 4 minutes two minutes shy of his longest concert ever. And at the age of 66.

How about the Allman Brothers with Doc Severinsen and the Tonight Show brass?

Fantastic!!! I remember that guy from watching The Tonight Show with my grandmother…
