Our nearly 11 year-old clothes dryer quit yesterday, and I had it up and running in no time, thanks to a secret stash of spare parts.
(queue happy dance)

Then, I decided to resurrect this 5-year-old GE unit, but gave up after an estimated $200 in replacement parts. Not counting a bunch of burnt-up wiring. Weird.

As a side note, the local appliance place wanted $28 for a simple dryer fuse. I bought a six pack of those fuses a couple of years ago for $10.

So, one live one, and one dead one.

I’ve been tangentially connected to several people who recently expressed the darkness that’s floating around in the heads and hearts. I think it’s tied to the holiday season & the cold dark nights certainly don’t help.
It hurts me to hear some of what I’ve heard from people who have kept stuff bottled up. I don’t like folks feeling gloomy.
All this to say, be available to those people around you who need a listening ear, a hug, some comfort and grace.

Just boarded the plane for the second leg of our flight home. They made an announcement that the plane is overbooked by one seat, and if anyone is willing to take a later flight, they will be compensated with a $1500 Visa card. I looked at my wife as I was getting up to get off of the plane. She told me to sit my ass back down. I could have bought a lot of cigars with $1500!
