The Residents 2021 North American Tour has been cancelled

I purchased tickets in January, 2020, for the April, 2020 show. That show was rescheduled for August 26, 2021, because of the COVID pandemic.
This morning, I received an email from the event staff that I have been refunded for the three tickets I purchased for myself & a couple of friends.
In a not so cryptic message on The Residents web site NEWS section, on Friday, August 13, 2021, The Residents announced, "Disappointment is real. And the Covid pandemic ravaging our culture is real. The Residents are real, too, in a misty, man-behind-the-curtain way. And the joy that an artist or musician brings to their supporters is also real, but so is the apprehension one feels when that excitement is replaced by anxiety and dread. Disappointment is a bitter pill and The Residents share in the sorrow that goes with the acrid gulp, but artists have resources to deal with frustration and failure - THEY CREATE!!!
And WE are creating... please stay tuned. As someone who lives in a land not far from The Residents' fog-shrouded castle on a hill once said, "Tomorrow is another day!"
Thanks for your love and support... and GET VACCINATED!!!"
On The Residents tour page it states, "Yes, it's true. Upcoming North American shows are being cancelled. As cancellations are confirmed, they will be removed from this page. Many venues/ticket outlets are sending out email messages and automatically issuing refunds to ticket holders, but some may require you to initiate the refund process. Contact your local venue or your ticket seller if you have more questions.
As of now, the California dates at the end of the scheduled tour are still happening. Stay safe, everyone."
Glad I saw The Residents on their 2018 tour here in the Twin Cities but the odds of ever again seeing them perform live is now very low.
