Unhappy Thread

No concerns for our house, we're far enough from any wooded area. Lots of other people in a really shitty situation right now though.
Glad to hear, but still shitty for all those who are not as lucky.

Upstairs AC went out last night… Just moved all the stock from humidor upstairs to two coolers and brought them downstairs… No chance of getting someone out until next week… And of course I am heading out of town next week, so who knows when I will get this repaired…

Probably a damn startup capacitor, but, we have not had any 100° days so far.

Man, that sucks eggs. Is your AC an outdoor/central unit?

Rain today has delayed the final completion of the patio until I get back from the beach. So close to being done and now it’s another week plus away. This project just does not want to end!

Pug you got me thinking about that Cap, so I went and checked it and sure enough cap was bad, went and grabbed one at a local supply house hooked it up and Ding Ding Ding we have a winner. Thx for the push in the right direction.

I fell during my race in Mississippi and thought I was just a bit banged up. The swelling didn't significantly go down after a week so I went the Dr. to get checked out. Luckily nothing is broken, but the muscles are hammered and I can't do any sport until it is healed. This forced me to back out of SwissAlps race this weekend. While this is disappointing, I also understand it is the best thing to do health wise. Hopefully, I'll recover fast enough to be ready or the Vienna Marathon in September.
The other disappointing news o the day, is that my son and I are once again cancelling our Japan trip due to not being allowed in the country and I doubt it will change by October. We then decided a Peruvian adventure would be fun, but after a day or two of planning and hyping it my head, my coworkers informed me off the Lambda variant that is running through South America at the moment so we will put that trip on hold. He will be over 18 when he finally gets to use his 16th birthday present.

That sucks, my friend. I will raise my hand and admit that I have done the same thing to someone else in my truck when I lived in Hawaii. I was coming up along side him in a turn lane, though, and not heading in the opposing direction. Minor inconvenience, in the grande scheme of life...

So sorry to hear, James. I know you had been looking forward to the SwissAlps race since last year. You are doing the smart thing, though -- heal up properly.

Very sorry to hear that you have to back out of the SwissAlps race, hopefully you can get the next one.

Its to bad you didn't mention this to the guy who runs an ortho clinic that just happen to be waiting for you at the finish line :) @Thoughts Somehow we should be able to blame him for not noticing it.

Wrong area for Brad.

I think that’s how you should notice that I work in orthopaedics. Because unless someone asks, I completely ignore any and all orthopedic things outside the clinic. Like if they ask if there are any providers on the plane and I’m looking around the bitch too like, “are there? Cmon this man could die! What are the chances there is no one in the medical field on this fucking plane???”

In his defense, I was so limpy from half-foot blisters on each foot and sore legs there would have been no way to know which was causing pain. I only checked it out because it didn't go away after a week of rest.

Sitting here listening to the constant pounding of rain. Hopefully I don’t have more trees down in the yard, like I came home to last night.

Thankfully no damage but I have a weekends worth of tree limbs to cut up. One big one off my garage 2-3 I pulled off the neighbors garage. But hey we all have power..ugh.

Well I finally have something to post in the unhappy thread.

Going on 3 days with no power kids are sleeping in a literal tent in the family room.

To be honest though it's been kinda fun. Flashlight tag at night and cooking outside on the blackstone for dinner. We have a generator to keep the beer cold and sump pump from flooding the house.

The tent thing was the wife's idea to keep the boys occupied. Worked like a charm!

Been there a few times myself. Glad to hear everyone is making the best of it and hope you get power back soon.

Weather outage, or what's the deal? Hope it comes back on soon!
