The Charlottesville Pass

Package arrived safely today. Everything looks great. I double checked the inventory and everything is there. I did my Ps & Ts. My mystery sticks I chose are M10 and M12. I printed out a copy of the updated inventory including my Ps & Ts and packed it in the box. I packed everything up got to the PO just before they closed and sent her on down the road. Heads up Alex! Maybe you will get it before Sunday afterall. I guess I could have sent it with my wife. She is heading to Lake Geneva tomorrow for a Yoga retreat. :p

Thanks again for having me in the pass and for everyone's patience and feedback.

Hey, Swifty, it's been a pleasure having you in the pass. Now don't go away and stop posting just because you've made your plays. Also, I need some reviews on the mystery sticks (that goes for everyone but Ree).

Whooooooo, this thing is getting closer to home.

I'll be happy to post a review of mystery sticks if it ever stops raining here so I can enjoy smoking a cigar some place other than in my car. :p

Oh, well - I guess things don't always work out so perfectly. We'll have to mail it to on another so we don't hold the pass up...

I'm sorry to hear that. :( I hustled as fast as could to get it in the mail in hopes that it would get there by Saturday. I only had it in my house for an hour and a half.

I'm not sure how you figure it will only make it to George one day sooner if you wait until Saturday to give it to him (maybe I misunderstood). If you do P&Ts tonight and mail it off tomorrow, it should get to him Wednesday or Thursday, no? He can then most likely have it back out Friday. I don't care much either way to be honest although having it sit for 4 days seems a bit silly IMO.

Mystery Stick M2 review:

This vitola is quickly becoming one of favorites so I was really looking forward to it. We had a pre-wedding dinner party on Saturday, the weather was cooperating and the new patio heater was all set up. A perfect opportunity to light up a cigar.

Visibly this is a very nice looking torpedo, smooth, medium veins. Prelight aroma was very nice, woodey, leather, very earthy but on the lighter side. There was no noticable pepper or spice on the pre-draw but a very nice taste of wood. The first 1/2 inch was strong, hot and burning but then it leveled out into a nice medium to medium full bodied taste. Interesting, this cigar had a very full woodey aroma with a lot of smoke, very similar to the way a cigar shop smells. I was then experiencing a burning sensation on the back of my throat, not sure what that was all about. The taste was wood, leather and a back palate of perfume, something I hadn't noticed in the aroma before or after lighting. Great burn, fantastic aroma, but didn't like the throat burn and not a huge fan of the perfume taste, I just wanted to smell this puppy burn.

I don't see a post with your puts and takes. Did you post them in the thread? ???

It doesn't look like the rain here is going to let up any time soon so I went ahead and smoked one of my mystery sticks in the car today. This is the 1st review of a cigar I have ever posted anywhere. It won't be very fancy, so please bear with me. Here goes  ........

Mystery stick #M10

Nice firm construction, slightly box-pressed looking with no real protruding veins. It smelled slightly like a hay barn. Prelilght draw tasted like a hay barn smells. I don't find this to be a bad thing as I like the smell of a hay barn. I lit it with no problems. Draw was firm, but not so much as to inhibit the smoke. First few puffs were pretty mild and eventually gave way to a little spice yet still fairly mild. The barnyard thing pretty much prevailed to the end. The smoke was not very thick yet not too thin either. After awhile I noticed a slight raisin flavor and a little farther in it got a little chocolatey. The chocolate flavor seemed to carry through to the end. The finish was slightly musty yet pleasant. The burn was very even throughout and ash seemed pretty firm. Overall it seemed to be a very tasty mild to medium smoke. I smoked it 'till there was about an inch left.
At first look I thought it might be a RP Vintage and while smoking it a couple others came to mind. After finishing smoking my official guess (please try not to laugh at the rookie :p ) is a Rocky Patel Vintage 1992 Robusto.

Thanks for the smokes and I will let you know when I get around to smoking the other one.
