It doesn't look like the rain here is going to let up any time soon so I went ahead and smoked one of my mystery sticks in the car today. This is the 1st review of a cigar I have ever posted anywhere. It won't be very fancy, so please bear with me. Here goes
........
Mystery stick #M10
Nice firm construction, slightly box-pressed looking with no real protruding veins. It smelled slightly like a hay barn. Prelilght draw tasted like a hay barn smells. I don't find this to be a bad thing as I like the smell of a hay barn. I lit it with no problems. Draw was firm, but not so much as to inhibit the smoke. First few puffs were pretty mild and eventually gave way to a little spice yet still fairly mild. The barnyard thing pretty much prevailed to the end. The smoke was not very thick yet not too thin either. After awhile I noticed a slight raisin flavor and a little farther in it got a little chocolatey. The chocolate flavor seemed to carry through to the end. The finish was slightly musty yet pleasant. The burn was very even throughout and ash seemed pretty firm. Overall it seemed to be a very tasty mild to medium smoke. I smoked it 'till there was about an inch left.
At first look I thought it might be a RP Vintage and while smoking it a couple others came to mind. After finishing smoking my official guess (please try not to laugh at the rookie
) is a Rocky Patel Vintage 1992 Robusto.
Thanks for the smokes and I will let you know when I get around to smoking the other one.
