Oh that's right, I forgot to submit guess, I'd say some sort of Torano cigar

Hey, Norcal. Great review on this stick BTW. I had hoped that a few months of age had evened these out a little, but it seems they do have a bit of harshness on them still. I, like you, think they have a great aroma. The cigar is a Nicaraguan Puro called Grand Nica. It is made by Torano in their Nicaraguan facility. It's a great value cigar that I have enjoyed for years, but this last batch seemed young or different, not sure which yet. Sorry about the throat burn thing :( , I had hoped that I had aged that out of them.

Looking forward to your next review.

I smoked M5(my old softball number) and really enjoyed it. Great looking robusto. Nice colorado wrapper. Smooth, medium bodied w/ lots of smoke. Espresso, cedar, cocoa and maybe a little honey thrown in the mix. Perfect burn. I'm gonna guess a Juan Lopez #2.

Believe it or not, I was going to guess a Nica of some sort. I haven't had very good luck with Nica cigars lately. Thanks for the smoke!

After finishing smoking my official guess (please try not to laugh at the rookie :p ) is a Rocky Patel Vintage 1992 Robusto.

Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding...we have a winner. Well, actually, the cigar was a RP Vintage 1990 Robusto, but that was a pretty damn good guess. Good palate. Only real difference in these is the wrapper, anyway. That was a great review, swifty. I'm out of touch this weekend, but be looking to your mail box next week. :D

Thanks for playing...can't wait to hear your next review.

Go ahead, laugh at the rookie now. That's "rookie with the first correct guess" to all you. :sign:

I better not get too cocky, I'm still a long way from snatching the pebble from master's hand and I seriously doubt if I can go 2 for 2.
Thank you to the hosts for the cigars and for putting on this most excellent pass.

Things seem to have slowed down going from IL to IL. :sign:

EDIT: Stupid typo and grammatical error. SC has it quoted for posterity.

No problem! Just curious where it went. Looks like someone needs to go to the office more. :p How do they feel about you just coming in to pick up paychecks? I need a job like that. ;)

Oh, I wish it were that simple, Dr. J. All over the damn map, and rarely in the office!!! :( But I do like going to the office to pick up box passes and paychecks!!! :D

I don't think "slown" is a word... but if it is I don't think it means what you think it means but if it does it's probably just a coincidence.

Riiiiiight ..... we know you thought about us while sippin a fine Rioja

Okay - went through this bad boy today... Decisions, decisions...

First was deciding which Mystery Cigars to take. After fondling each one (drool on each...) - I chose the M-18 (nice construction, interesting size I've liked to smoke lately) and M-21 (I always am a sucker for those bigger ring gauge cigars).

As far as puts/takes:

Takes:

13. Monte Buena Fortuna - smoked my last one recently and wanted another - Thanks!
45. La Aurora Preferidos #1 - Heard the hype, now I want to see what the big deal is.
69. Party short ISOM - Not tried one of these yet.

Puts:
72. Trinidad Dominican Fundadore
73. Partagas Limited Reserve (green label) Regale
74. SLR-A '03 ISOM
75. Petrus Fortis Anejo #2

If this meets with the hosts approval, I'll pack this bad boy up and send it on its way tomorrow!!!

Thanks for letting me play!

Looks good to me as well. Glad you got some smokes that you were looking for!!!

Yeah when I saw the addy that was in the pass I was like hmm thats odd. BUt thats waht the prewritten label had so I stuck to it.

Sorry George..

Wrong. HC 7/rocks and a BRC brought you scrubs to mind but it was fleeting.
