PARTIGAS serie D 2005 reserva

Vitasea, don't go away mad, just go away. You brought this upon yourself. No one to blame but yourself.

Sorry bro,

Vitasea...again, thank you for the cigar. I think mine was OK after smoking it. But you have witch hunt out for you...I would tread carefully from now on. Just some advice.

Interesting choice of words - "witch hunt". Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but that suggests you think he's being burned at the stake for his beliefs, but without merit. Please elaborate...

Well...maybe not "witch hunt"...but due to amount of times he's tried to burn people by handing out "Cubans", a lot of people on this board are after him. People are also trying to keep him from coming back with more offers of "Great Cubans". That's just my observation from reading this the last few months. Witch hunt maybe harsh..."Burned at the stake for his beliefs, but without merit" though, isn't correct. He knows that he is doing, whether he knows they are real or not, he is trying to drum up business.

Hope that clears up what I was trying to get across.

I'm not trying to slam vitasea; I just think it is fair to get the information out there so people can make up their own minds. This is particularly important for people who are new here, and may not be aware of the history, or may not have any idea regarding fake vs. real Cuban cigars.

Does anyone know what nick vitasea goes by on some of the other boards??Like CW for instance?

Vitasea slammed himself. He asked for honest opinions. When he got them he did not like what was said and showed his butt.

Moki you are 100% correct in your post.

Thanks... That cleared it up for me!!!

I believe he's hung in there despite some serious swipes at him. But, to be honest, he asked for them and got an honest assessment from the board. He came back for more... I just didn't think it was a "witch hunt". He was burned at the stake for his beliefs - but it sure wasn't without merit... Moki's post is 100% correct!

I finally got around to smoking the so called "Series D Reserve." First i would like to thank Vitasea for the free cigar and holder. It showed up in great shape as everyone else here has mentioned. The cigar had a very good appearance, good looking wrapper, a triple cap, and the labels were lined up correctley. The cigar had an aroma similar of that to a damp barn which i believe to be a characteristic of cuban tobacco. So far things looked good. So I lit the cigar up and i soon realized the draw was extremly tight so much so that i felt my jaw strain each time i took a puff. The cigar tasted ok but was pretty mild. Because of the draw i was only able to smoke about half of it. When i hit the the half way point the wrapper began to come apart so i decided to toss the towel in. If this cigar was real ( and i guess we will never know), i consider myself quite fortunate to never have to pay 50 bucks for this cigar again. Thanks again for the opportunity Vitasea.

How about it Vitasea, what are your usernames on the other boards. I for one would like to see how you are recieved on some of the other boards, Ill take a non response as you are reluctant for us to view the threads. :whistling:

It's not like his posts are hard to find, he has a pretty unique writing style, to put it gently.

In any case, I wouldn't take his non-response as anything other than what he said: he has given up here and is not reading threads anymore.

I have received a number of PM’s on my notice not to respond publicly and I will explain my reason so everyone will understand. I sent 22 of the Partagas ser D Reserva out and seven other sticks to several members who have been rather vocal about me. I believe one of the conditions was a honest public review. To date there have been 12 responses out of 29 possibles the record 6 postitive and 6 negitive. Now I am aware that most people anticipated that these were fakes and if smoked with that altitude probably were convinced they were, they were not.

The record;

Fetterjohn positive after a lot of soul searching
Igwanarob positive
Cigarsage negative
Ggiese negative
Rob_k negative
Mrjiinglesusa positive

The mayor positive
Cymfour negative
Kayakinboy negative what about the monti D ?
Tenpin positive
Flying panther negative
Preembargo positive some stuff on his wish list

Now a number of the negatives had some problems with the draw, you do realize they make a device called a cigar cutter and it is highly recommended you use this be fore attempting to smoke a caped cigar

Now what about the rest of the recipients, they have surely rested in your humidors and achieving the humidity your accustom to.

Whats up afraid of public ridicule. An interesting note an associate of mine sold 200 of these cigars for $20 a stick on cigar weekly and had nothing but praise . I have also been criticized for not wanting an honest opinion not true I have only wanted to keep the facts straight

Ok vitasea. I let it rest and I did smoke it.

The construction was top notch, I do admit. But the smell was not there when I compared it to the PSD#4s I had sitting next to it. From the initial light, it burned perfect and never needed any relights. The problem is that I couldn't taste anything. Very muted tastes w/ no "twang". Now, these might be cuban tobacco, but it didn't match up to the PSD #4 I smoked right after.

Anyway, thanks for the smoke.

For the record: I have had no problems with what was sent to me. Everything was legitimate as far as I know. I still have not smoked the Cohiba Sublime or the Cohiba Siglo II (I think that's what size it was). But, I am not in the market for another source to buy stuff and am not endorsing vitasea as a potential source. I can say that what I received was what it was represented as.

Vitasea,

The Cohibas you sent me all looked great, Double Corona EL 2003, Sublime EL 2005, Siglo VI. As I posted earlier, I was concerned about the Siglo VI due to band issues and wrapper color but the construction was beautiful and it had the aroma of a Siglo VI . This is the only one of the bunch that I smoked and since you posted that you were "out of here" I didn't think there was any reason to post my findings. Which was positive by the way.

Why are you doing this?
Are you trying to sell your cigars?
If you are, why didn't you answer my questions earlier in the thread?
My questions are legit.
I wanted to know where you got your sticks from, and how you are protecting yourself from what happened the first time you tried the free gift thing. Farm grown cubans!!!
I have always been respectful of you and given you the benifit of the doubt. I am just looking for some answers. As you have stated before 95% of all cubans sold in the USA are fake. How are we to trust yours?

Gotta admit I haven't been following this thread as I should have, so here're my comments.

Construction: Very nice, smooth wrapper, no soft spots. Draw was a little firm, what I expect from a PSD 4

Burn: Excellent for the first 2/3s, then a little uneven.

Pre-light: Vegetal

Flavor: primarily vegetal, unlike other PSD's I have. May need some aging before they reach their full potential.

Aroma: Bland, not what I have come to expect from one of these. Again, may be due to aging.

Comments: Likely a good smoke if you plan on putting them away for some time. As a right now smoke, somewhat lacking.

Thanks for the opportunity to try these. Good luck with your endeavors.
