PARTIGAS serie D 2005 reserva

OH, and send me one of them new Partagas P #2 ELs and maybe one of those new Cohiba Piramide EL 2005.

:D

Vitasea first I would like to apologize for taking so long and once again thank you for the cigar. Here is my review on it.

The look and construction was great. The bands look dead on from what I can find on the internet. I used a V cut and did a test draw and found it to be tight. Not blocked but tight. I was in for a work out. Stayed tight the whole cigar. I have only smoke one other Cuban and it was tangy. This was not. I found the cigar mild and plain with no real tobacco taste. Ash only lasted an inch and it burned a little uneven. The last two inches it got hot and at the last inch or so I had to put it out. I was disappointed with this cigar and would want my money back from the vendor. Once again thank you for the opportunity.

My advice to you. Don't try to sell or trade back door cigars. Giving them away with the disclaimer that they are back door cigars is fine. No BOTL should be upset here since it is a gift and should never be passed on. If like others and you want to sell off some of your extra's make sure you have a box with the codes and you can post pics to prove they are real. Also never reuse the pics to save time as all here have long memories.

Yup ...... just as I remembered. The Double Corona is an EL 2003 and the Sublime is a EL 2005.

Even the Cohiba band is fake, if you will notice the gold box around the name is thicker by a good measure than a real Cohiba, that is one of the main tells for spotting a fake Cohiba. The habans script is probably darker and bolder that the original the Cohiba script is probably different also.

Vitasea: What you have to realize is if the band is fake then the cigar is too. There is no way a real cohiba would have a fake band on it, there is no way you can make it so.If the bands are fake then you have no leg to stand on and you wont be selling many of these.Who cares how many cigars you have sold on another site, once they get a whiff of your discrepancies the market will dry up if they have any sense at all.

First of all, Gonz you were wrong for posting sources...Period  ;)

Fetter,
I would NEVER purchase cigars from my local B&M. No telling how many times I've heard the "I have a relative in Cuba" story. I would only purchase from sites that are reccomended to you. Just stick around and the sources will come to you in due time. I know that some people are scared about seizures with Customs. Well, I've been ordering for a year and just got my first seizure. But I'm not worried because I picked a good vendor that's taking care of me.

Jim,
Just a little correction on the wrapper shades you were harping to Fetter about. Everyone needs to remember that with a natural product, such as cigars, that there will be variations in wrapper color. It's not an if, it's a guarantee. I think there are 70 different wrapper colors sorted when cuban cigars are boxed.

Vitsea,
I'm still waiting on mine and will compare it to the ones I already have. Hopefully it'll come in today.

Also, those that think this will taste like an aged PSD#4 are wrong. The tobacco might be 5 year old tobacco that they use in PSD#4 cigars, but they haven't gotten a chance to meld together. Just remember this if you think they're "off" for some reason.

All IMHO folks  :)

All good points Cliff. However, it's not the color so much as the LENGTH that is troubling. I have never heard of a PSD4 that is over 124 mm.

You are right on about the taste. The cigar SMELLS fresh and a little wet. To me, it smells like a fresh PSD4 should smell. As such, this should taste like a freshly rolled PSD4. I was going to smoke it tonight, but considering the wetness, I am going to let it sit @ 64% for a few days.

Mr. Jingles... a 1/8 inch difference is acceptable.... I'm not saying that these are real vs. fake.. but it is acceptable within the Habanos world for an error margin of 3.16 mm's.

That may be true, but not in my experience. I have compared PSD4s from 3-4 different boxes and they were all within 1 mm of each other.

EDIT: I urge you to find me a legit PSD4 that is over 124 mm long, let alone 127 mm.

Not what I was going to say. The PSPs are NEW this year - there is no way they are making it a 2005 LE.

EDIT: Typo
