Netflix and other shows you are watching

I did see in one of the publicity releases that that would be the POV. Don't know if that came from Lyons himself or the director, but Kathy was pretty emblematic of that little slice of an era Lyons documented, when outlaw bikers were still part of the racing scene (as in The Wild Ones, which was based on Hollister) before the major turf wars over, aaaaah, "off the books" enterprises. Pulled into the life almost against her will by the sheer force of someone just not taking no for an answer.

This is the bit that the director did not make at all sympathetic. I get that there was a time constraint to work within, and this had to be given as exposition so the rest of the story could take place, but to me it needed a little more fleshing out than, "He waited outside my house all night and all day, and five weeks later I mayyyyyyreeeeed 'im!". Like, literally, that's the exposition we get in the film. Her discomfort with Benny remaining in the club comes through later on, but I never felt what you described.

It was good, don't get me wrong. I think this one needed to be a multi-part limited series on a streamer, though, for sure. There was so much to tell that didn't get the attention it deserved in the short running time.

We went to see "A Quiet Place: Day One" yesterday. I really like both of the main stars and they were great in their roles. The movie was just a letdown, in itself.

I'll admit to watching "America's Sweethearts" with the wife. I enjoyed it, not gonna lie. Having a daughter that has danced since she was 4 and wants to continue doing Pom somewhere, it's an eye opening experience what they go through and how little they are paid.

Finished season 4 of True Detective on Hbomax, freaky deaky

We are half way through the second season now. It really has slowed down.... I hope it picks back up soon!
This show has pacing issues to me; some episodes are good and others are just a hectic mess. Season 3 hasn't changed this formula. It is a pretty good show at the end of the day. I tend to like the slower exposition episodes, where they show the characters growing or their backstory. But I really can't stand when it goes full drama and frantic mess.

This…100%!

To me the third season really had some unique and artfully directed episodes with the choices made and the relationships and character histories explored. I enjoyed it! I've never worked in a kitchen of any sort, so the craziness that working a kitchen seems to be catches my attention.

Good news is that it was renewed for a 4th season before the 3rd season premiere aired!

I'm about halfway through S1 of The Diplomat on Netflix, which I opened up just before finishing Bodies. GREAT writing, GREAT casting. It really snaps, crackles & pops!

Also started Unorthodox, a four part limited series on Netflix, because Shira Haas from Bodies stars & I wanted to see more of her work. She's just an amazing actress. Her facial expressions are as subtle & strong as any dialogue---the characters SHINE. Storyline is very different from my usual fare & apparently based on an autobiography, but the first episode was very good.

If you enjoy shows that use no brain cells and are hilarious... Letterkenny and the offshoot from Letterkenny, Shoresy. I laugh so hard I cry at these shows.

Love The Diplomat. Watched it as soon as it was released.

Going to have to rewatch in preparation for season 2.

I'm a fan of Kerri Russell, and I love political games movies and serieseseseses. I've had this on my list, but haven't started it yet.

It's superb! Finished S1 tonight & no spoilers, but it ends on a HUGE cliffhanger that makes me very happy there'll be an S2.

Speaking of second seasons, Kleo, Sandman & Wednesday all have one on the way, so I guess I'm keeping my Netflix sub active for a while longer. Speaking of which, if you haven't watched Kleo it's just hilariously great.
