Netflix and other shows you are watching

Finished Obliterated, which was a huge amount of fun. Watching---turned out to be rewatching, but it's really good---Who Is Erin Carter?

Probably going to hit up 3 Body Problem and Last Airbender (live action version) next.

On the flights, I watched:

-The Beekeeper (John Wick, but they killed his bees, instead... sort of)
-Freelance (John Cena action comedy. I liked it. ISWIS)
-The Man From Toronto (A fun airplane flick. Stream if bored.)
-Asteroid City (Huge Wes Anderson fan, but maybe I was just too tired to get into this one)
-Once I Was A Champion (Bio of MMA fighter Evan Tanner. Disappointing in execution.)
The Beekeeper synopsis 😂

Watching John Adams series on some channel, pretty good, love me some historical fiction. Looking forward to Horizon, 1st movie in awhile that was appealing enough to go spend $700 or so on popcorn.

John Adams the HBO series with Paul Giamatti? I watched that a year to so ago and really enjoyed it!

Mayor of Kingstown Season 1

The Bear Season 3 was just released
Presumed Innocent - a new series based on the same book as the movie was

Caught the premiere episode of Orphan Black: Echoes on Amazon Prime's AMC+ channel. Haven't decided if I'll spring for the $5 sub or keep paying $2 an episode yet but it's pretty good. Krysten Ritter of Jessica Jones, whose ass still looks fine AF in jeans at 42. The Orphan Black tie in doesn't pop up until the end of the premiere, but I definitely wouldn't mind seeing Tatiana Masly again.

Tyres, mate.

Is this a sequel or a reboot? I really enjoyed the original series.

I would say . . . . neither, exactly? But it does intersect with the original show & take place in the same universe's future?

Cosima's scientist girlfriend from the original series is in charge of the project/company that made Krysten Ritter's character Lucy, who has escaped.

So far it doesn't look like we'll get half a dozen Krystens like we did Tatianias, but you never know. There's just the series premiere up so far.

My wife and I went and watched "The Bikeriders" last night. It was... well acted. I don't know what I was expecting from it, but this wasn't it.

I have Lyon's book (and Crossing the Ohio) hanging framed on my office wall so I'll be watching this as soon as it comes to streaming. But knowing his story already, if you were expecting Sons of Anarchy or even Hells Angels Forever, it wouldn't be that.

I didn't hate it, I just didn't expect it to be a recollection from Jodie Comer's character's POV. Her accent seemed so over the top, but I saw interviews with her and Butler and they showed the real Kathy, and Comer was spot-on. You will not be disappointed watching it, I'm sure, especially on streaming and not paying $7,000 to see it in the theater.

Well, I spent a week at my brother's watching way too much on the Tube. Reacher, Silo, Andor, The Night Agent, Dark, and Where the Crawdads Sing were all pretty enjoyable.

I did see in one of the publicity releases that that would be the POV. Don't know if that came from Lyons himself or the director, but Kathy was pretty emblematic of that little slice of an era Lyons documented, when outlaw bikers were still part of the racing scene (as in The Wild Ones, which was based on Hollister) before the major turf wars over, aaaaah, "off the books" enterprises. Pulled into the life almost against her will by the sheer force of someone just not taking no for an answer.

Broke down and got a Paramount+ subscription through Prime. So am going through Discovery and The Mayor of Kingstown.
