Well, yeah, that's true. You don't.

The request was for "a little respectful dialog directed towards respected members that devote alot of time in adding to CP". Being the FNG here, I don't know who the "respected members" are, though. As I continue to read more posts than I reply to, I start to figure it out, though. The "respected members" in my book are those guys being respectful to the new guys as much as the old guys.

I just though it was funny, honestly, and not even a dig at cohibasurfer. He seemed to have gotten upset because someone wasn't showing respect to the respected members and then told me to not show my ass. Maybe I didn't interpret the meaning of that phrase correctly, but it sounds like he's calling someone as ass.

Anyway... was just funny, as I said. Even as the FNG, I'll only respect those members around here that earn it. The oldest FOG around still has to earn my respect. He could give two shits whether he actually ever earns it or not (meaning he doesn't care about it), but it still has to be earned. :)

Respect is earned... and the FOGs here have earned the respect. Even if it was before your time. They are the ones who made this place what is is. Think of this place any way you want, Community, club or organization. Would you walk into your neighborhood "club" and demand respect from the regulars there ?..... Alot of people here are in the Armed Services and Civil Service. Did you automatically get the respect from the guys who were around before you were there ?.... or did you need to earn it ?....

You may have earned alot of respect in the professions that you were in. But it does not grant you automatic respect in this community.

This post is not meant towards anyone individually....

Well, there's pretty much nothing for me to add that hasn't already been said. It all goes back to that post where cohibasurfer pointed out that if volusinator could have simply resisted the urge to post those last two sentences, NONE of this would have happened.

Of course my "fan club" :rolleyes: (you know, the cowards who won't post publicly but whine to Rod via PMs about me being involved in "drama" around here) won't see it that way and I'm sure they're already whining to Rod again. :rolleyes: I have noticed though that when a couple of them actually get the balls to post, they wind up making asses out of themselves.

Life is just SO unfair.....

I was going to jump into this flame war with both feet... and then I remembered I can legally drink beer at work in Germany so I went and got a lager out of the beer machine.

Im the head of the IT department Wade, so working when no one else is here, while rocking out to Led Zep and drinking beer, is one of my perks lol

I still have to go outside to smoke though :p
