Good morning all and as always, the joe is brewin'. Well, the Yankees won another game making it six straight with a score of 5 - 1. The Twins were scoreless in eight innings and for the full wrap up, here's the link:
The Yanks take on the Red Sox this weekend which will definitely move the standings around a bit. Anyway, being that today is Thursday, we'll be at Schlesinger's Cigar Bar / Hudson Valley cigars this evening to enjoy a few tastey cigars and to exchange the weeks adventures. If your in the area, stop on by for a stogie or two. If not, I hope you get to enjoy a favorite as well.......
Good morning all and TGIF!!!!!! There wasn't much on yesterday sports wise except the Mets vs. Phillies game where the Mets won 3 - 1 and are now in 1st place in the NL East. Beth is a big Mets fan and I don't mind watching them as long as the Yankees aren't on at the same time. Well tonight, The Yankees take on the Red Sox at Fenway Park at 1905 (7:05pm) with Joba Chamberlain on the mound. The Sox have Josh Becket starting which will be a great pitching battle if they are both on thier game. Last night at Schlesinger's, we had a great time enjoying primo ceegars and the weather was great. Today the weather should be great with temps in the low 80s and partly sunny. I hope everyone has a super weekend and gets to enjoy a few of your favorites.........
Good morning all and happy Saturday. The coffee is on and I'm not sure what we are having for our brunch as of yet. Well, it was a great night of sports lasts night. The Yanks were spot on winning 1 - 0 over the Red Sox. Joba was outstanding as was Josh Becket for the Sox but it seemed that the Yankees wanted the win a little bit more. Today they are scheduled to start at 1555 (3:55pm) with Pettitte vs. Wakefield which will be another pitching duel. Also, the Mets won which made Beth happy giving them a 2 game lead in 1st place in the NL East. It should be another great day weather wise today for sports, BBQ and of course cigar smoking. I hope everyone has a great day and gets to enjoy a favorite or two or........
Good morning all and yes, the coffee is on. Beth is out at Shoprite picking up a few thing as well as few few fresh muffins for breakfast. Well, the Yankees hammered the Red Sox yesterday 10 - 3 and today is the 3rd of 3 games which is scheduled to air on ESPN at 2005 (8:05pm) EST. The Bronx bombers have now won 8 straight proving that they want that #27 World Series Championship. Anyway, besides baseball, the NASCAR drivers are at the Brick Yard in Indianapolis which is also on ESPN and that starts at 1300 (1pm). I hope everyone has a super Sunday and enjoys.......
Good morning all and yes, the joe is brewin'. Well, last night was the Yankees turn to get spanked. They got beat 9 - 2 but as the Yankees manager Joe Girardi stated, it was a good weekend taking 2 out of 3 in Feway Park. Now onto NASCAR, the guys had a terrible time with the tire compsite and were bearly able to go 10 laps without having tire problems. There were competition yellow flags thrown way to often and the teams were getting very frustated. Jimmy Johnson won it after 4 hours and congratulations goes out to the entire Lowes team. Anyway, I hope everyone has a great week and gets to enjoy a few of thier favorites though out it.......
Good morning all and as always, the coffee is on. Well, it was another spanking for the Yankees. Mike "The Moose" Mussina was not on his game last night as the Bombers lost 13 - 4. They'll be back at it tonight here in the Bronx at 1905 (7:05pm) with Rasner on the mound and hopefully they pull out a win. One good thing is that both Tampa Bay and Boston both lost so the standings remained the same. Anyway, I hope all of you have a great day and enjoy a favorite cigar or two........
Good morning all and Happy Hump Day. Well, it was another tough loss last night as the Yanks almost came back in the 9th loosing 7 - 6. The Red Sox also lost last night so we only fell back one more game to the Rays making us 4 behind them and leeping us 2 behind Boston. I'm sure that the bombers will snap this loosing streak and get back on the winning track real soon. Anyway, we went to Schlesinger's Cigar Bar last night and enjoyed a couple of tastey ceegars and some cool drinks. Tuesdays they offer a seafood raw bar and we tried a variety platter which was perfect to accompany everything else on thier back deck "The Beach".
I hope everyone has a great day and gets to enjoy a tastey cigar or two some time today.........
Good morning all and yes, the joe is brewin'. Well, it was good to see the Yankees take one from the Orioles yesterday and stop from being swept by them. The final score was 13 - 3 with Bobby Abreu going deep twice and A-Rod sent on out as well. For the complete wrap up, here is the link:
Also, Boston lost so we are only one game behind them in the standing to get 2nd place. Being that it's Thursday, we'll be at Schlesinger's Cigar Bar / Hudson Valley Cigars this evening to enjoy a couple of favorite sticks and some cool refreshments. If your close by, come on and join us. If not, I hope you have a great night as well and enjoy........
Good day all and yes, it's almost lunch time. We had a house guest last night and our spare bedroom is our computer / sports room. I finally got a break hear at work so I thought I'd check in and say 'Hi". We had a great time last night at Schlesingers, the weather was perfect and the cigars were smokin'. I hope everyone has a super weekend and gets to enjoy a few of your favorites........
Good morning all and yes, the El Pico espresso is kickin'. It was a long one last night but the Yankees lost in the 10th inning 1 - 0. The Moose is back on the mound for the Bombers today with the 1st pitch at 1555 (3:55pm) live on Fox TV from the Bronx and hopefully we can take one from the Angels and get back on the winning streak. Also, the NASCAR Nationwide Series (formerly the Busch series) is live on ESPN2 from Montreal, Canada. Tomorrow, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (the big boys) are racing at the Pocono Raceway starting at 1300 (1pm) live on ESPN. For the full report ans schedule, here is the link for your convenience:
The weather looks good for the weekend as far as for BBQing, outdoor activities and of course for cigar smoking. I hope everyone has a great day and gets to enjoy a few of your favorites.......
Good morning all and a happy Sunday wish to everyone. The coffee is on and I'm not sure what's for brunch as of yet. Well, it was good to see that the Yankees gave the spanking yesterday to the Angels beating them 8 - 2. For the full story, here's the link:
Today the Bombers have Darrell Rasner on the mound starting at 1305 (1:05pm) and hopefully they keep the bats going and tie up this series with the Angels. Besides baseball, like I said yesterday, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (the big boys) are racing at the Pocono Raceway starting at 1300 (1pm) live on ESPN. Hopefully Dale Earnhardt Jr. driving the #88 Amp / National Guard Chevrolet does good and keeps his overall standings of 2nd in the points lead. Anyway, I hope everyone has a graet day and get to enjoy a favorite or two or........
Good morning all and yes, the joe is brewin'. Well, yesterday was another good day as far as baseball, hangin' out at the pool side and bbqing. The Yankees won 14 - 9 and are keeping up with the Rays and Red Sox as they won as well. All in all, it was a great day as my nephew Brian (Axle) brought over a couple of fresh rolled from a shop he picked in LI. After sittin' by the pool for a few hours, we barbequed up a bunch of wings and made a few half pound chees burgers. Life don't get much better than this! Anyway, I hope everyone has a great week and gets to enjoy a number of your favorites........
Good morning all and yes, the coffee is on as always. Well, last night's Yankees vs. the Rangers game, it was a back and forth match and in the bottom of the 9th the Bombers gave up a game loosing walk off Grand Slam loosing 9 - 5. One good thing was that the Red Sox lost and the Rays as well so there was no change in the top three standings in the AL East. I hope we take one tonight and tighten up the race cause before we know it, the playoffs will be here. Anyway, I hope everyone has a great day and smoke a favorite cigar or two or.......
Good morning all and Happy Hump Day. The coffee is on and I'm still undecided about breakfast at this point. One of the ladies in our office turns 29 today and I'm sure that they'll have a cake for her as well as bagels, muffins and fresh fruit. Well, the Yankees lost another one last night as Pettitte on lasted 5 innings and the Bombers lost 8 - 6 to the Texas Rangers. Richie Sexton did hit a grand slam in the 8th but the Yanks just had a tough time recovering from an early 5 - 1 lead. For the full story, look here:
