Great lunch. Awesome Beer.

That's a lot of beer and food for two people.

Two people?

Also, does this place allow smoking? Because I'm moving there if they do.

Went to the bar last night and had some pints:

Stone Vanilla Porter (no way this is a porter. Thick and chewy with a nice vanilla extract flavor)
Firestone Union Jack (solid)
RR Blind Pig (much better and more balanced on tap than from the bottle. Really impressed with this)
Stone Old Guardian '10 (very good. Gonna have to buy some bottles of this one)

Dogfish Head Chateau Jiahu

A=Appearance
S=Smell
T=Taste
M=Mouthfeel
D=Drinkability

Grade: C (3.0)

An herbed/spice offering from Dogfish Head.

A. Pours a golden yellow in the glass with a creamy white head that slowly dissipates. 3.5

S. A little honey, but nothing particularly exciting. Outside of the honey, dare I say it resembles the smell of many lite beers widely available. 2.5

T. The taste is slightly bitter. Flavors include honey and some cooking spices with a malty pilsner background. Hint of ripe melon is present. Very sweet. 3.0

M. Good carbonation. Quite thick. 3.0

D. ABV is 10%. Dogfish masks high ABV beers very well. It's a sipper as the sweetness can only be tolerated in small doses. 3.0

Summary: Not a bottle I would often reach for. I'm glad I only bought one. Too sweet and too syrupy for me. I will struggle to complete the glass I'm drinking.

Presentation: 750ml bottle

Thanks Rob!

I've often wondered about this one, and could not decide. I'm not overly crazy about overly sweet beers. Think I'll pass unless one falls into my lap.

Irondale Swanton Rae's Double Chocolate Stout. Save your money. Had a delicious aroma of caramel and butterscotch along with milk chocolate but the taste had a peculiar bitterness. Not a floral hop bitterness, but more of an ESB/sour bitterness. Wasn't sure if it was just a bad bottle but looking at BA seems the two reviews on it got the same experience.

Faaaaaaantastic!

Bee-u-ti-ful picture, Greg. :thumbs:

I need to start hanging out with you. :whistling:

Bell's Hopslam and Nugget Nectar back to back. Hopslam is excellent. NN is not as good to my goat palate, but damn good.

Had a few Delirium Tremens at Blue Dog the other night, and sipped on the lovely Rocheforte 10 last night with pizza! So delicious.
