Unhappy Thread

I-696 is closed EB for 2 years from Lahser to Dequindre. For all intents and purposes this is right in the middle of my drive home from work.

On a normal day I’m home in 10-15 min. The workaround path for the state would turn that into 45 min plus…😡

Of course there are other options, that everyone is now taking to bypass the 45 min detour. Guess what? Still takes them 45 min. I’m trying to find my own work around but it sucks when I’m a half mile from home and it takes me 20 min to drive it, because of everyone else.

In 2 years they will do the same to the WB side. But at least that makes me late to work..orange barrel season for 4 years. Yay.

Having lived all of my life in small towns, except when in school, I can't imagine dealing with city traffic daily. When I took the bar exam in Des Moines (not even a "big" city, compared to many), the first day ended at 4:30 on a Friday, so right during the commute. It took me 45 minutes to drive less than two miles from downtown back to my apartment near the college.

Old Lady doggo has another foreign body obstruction of some sort, and requires surgery. Again. It's going to be in the five-figures.

fuckingfuckfuckerfuckfuckfuckfuckkkkkkkk

(*EDIT* This is going to put a serious dent in my donkey sanctuary plans...)

I’ve been working on a repeater system for a food storage plant that is almost done being built. Coordinating with the electrical contractor has been frustrating. Rescheduling and not having guys available after saying they would be has drug the installation on. I e had to reschedule and cancel the inspection with the city twice. Yesterday, I had to wait for almost two hours in the rafters because he thought his guys were ready. Turns out, they were on lunch and they didn’t properly secure the snake line to pull the coax through. They didn’t communicate that to me. Long story short, the job didn’t get done, my tech and I got into a yelling match (mostly him), I was then left to complete the antenna installation by myself, on a catwalk, 135ft off the ground in sub zero temps. Now I have cold burns and cuts on both hands and multiple fingers. I don’t think it’s too serious, but they’re visible and hurt. Did I mention the job still isn’t done?IMG_0082.jpegIMG_0083.jpeg

Got a cough Saturday afternoon. Today, I went to the dr and confirmed influenza a. I’m supposed to fly out to Mexico on Friday for a spring break vacation with my son. 95% sure that’s not going to happen for me.
Ugh that sucks. We are about to leave for a trip to Mexico as well. Trying to avoid getting sick, but I always get calls to go to my parents house…and I can hear them coughing and they are like oh it’s nothing, just come over….noooooooo!

I wasn’t planning on masking up on the plane, but I may bring one with me, just in case. Fingers crossed you get better quickly and can make the trip.
