I don't understand why CF would go exclusive, but I would think more cigars make the jump from personal stash to Yahoo! Auctions there, so I can understand the fear from that board.

Here is a direct quote from the keeper of the Scumbag/Bad Trader site that has decided to only list individuals from the CF site:
"4/25/05 NOTE. I will no longer add people to this list unless the matter is Cigar Family related. Several other cigar BBs protect known scumbags, and I will no longer run interference and play the "bad cop" for them."

Rod, I'm sure you'll do this as first class as you do everything else. Make sure to include a few checks and balances.

It's the forum for the MD cigars site. The owner is a member here. Think he's a B&M and e-tailer located in the southwest. If I remember correctly he has (had?) a pretty cool webcam.

a good point was made on sites harbouring 'fugutives'. have seen a bunch of guys on CW that were run off of CP, CF, etc...
tho to CW's credit, they do well for such a huge site with so many members.

OK fellas, I have an etiquete questions. I am kind of new, I mean I have about 5 guys and I alywas send one or another am email and we all know what we like and such.... but about three months ago I posted a list on ICG aka (the graveyard) and this guy answers, I said ok and fended everyone esle off the stash, well about a month later he send me an email (keep in mind now he is in Canada and I was giving him the benefit of the doubt on the postage-customs deal)well the email said "I forgot to send you cigars but I'll do ot tomorrow" well another freaking month passes and I sent him 2 emails during this time saying I don't have the cigars anymore, it has been a month. After about three more weeks I get an email stating "I forgot to tell you I sent the cigar last week , I am just lazy sometimes" Well I get 5 LGC churchills is the mail . What would you do, send them back, wait a month ans edn his or send his and say "wake up a##hole!" I was even curious to see if they were legit but the cello was yeallow and fakes usually are fresh celloed- right?
What would you do?

I have to agree with KayaKinBoy. Censoring the snailers would reduce the effectiveness of the site by a large margin.

If you're going to have real names up there, then you can have addresses. It's not like you can't look stuff up on property records, White Pages, etc. www.cigarthief.com should be your one stop shop for information on bad traders. Otherwise what's the point?

Listing real names and address may seem harsh, but those do not change on a regular basis. The folks that steal cigars under the guise of trading or passing will change their screen names like they change their underwear.

Posting their real names and especially their addresses is the only way to protect ourselves from continually getting taken by these thieves.

Name, address, and phone number, and whatever other identifying info is absolutely necessary if you really want to "out" these scumbags.The main thing is to only put scumbags and not what this person or that person considers a scumbag. It wouldnt do any service if it was a political or politically correct thing, it needs checks and balances. The one thing is, that for the most part, Rod and most of the FOGs on this site really hash things out before making such a pronouncement which is a good thing. And all of the scumbags they have identified on this site are truly deserving "scumbags".
