The January Pass

Have a great vacation!

Just to touch on the BTL...I know using the BTL as a put is generally a thumbs up for a lot of smokes....but what is an acceptable trade when TAKING a BTL?

phew! Thanks for your approval boss. Not that it surprises me, but thanks anyway :D

Have a safe trip and I hope you enjoy your vacation.

I ain't mad at ya. ;) Just the Nature of the Beast of the Pass I guess. Hey, we're here for friendship more than cigars. Cigars are just our common bond that brought us together. I'm excited to get my hands on some ISOM's I haven't tried yet.

Now you're telling me, after you got TWO crystal balls rolled at you! ;)

No hard feelings, brother. I wanted that Anejo 55 and the WOA, but alexgtp was first, and as you say, that's the nature of the pass. Uh, beast.

I wish for you and everybody else in this pass that they find something they like, even though it may not be what they were first looking at. Cheers!

hmmmmm.....ya know Arno.......you could possibly send the 26 to me and I could probably throw a WOAM to ya when I send the Trinis.

But I'll leave it all up to you

:whistling: Let me think about itI'm done. Naw, the two slim Trinis wouldn't look good together with a short, fat WOA, even if it is an M ;)
Now, if you want to do those Trinis a favor (Tri is Latin for three, hint, hint!) AND save a substantial amount of cash, you could send another Trini in exchange for the two QDO.

Hmmmmm........nah :D
I'll wait for another 26

I think I'll smoke your WOAM now since it's another nice night ;)

I keep seeing talk of a BTL in the pass, and i skimmed over the pages, is there a btl in the pass?

I would go for another likewise rare cigar. It is much rarer to find than many. [for exapmple, a store near me is licenced by the Fuentes so they get tons of Opus X every year, etc... But, have never seen BTL's there].

the "fair market value" I would say is somewhere in the $20 range [at least that is the gen selling price I have seen]. Would say any [single] cigar in that range should be fine.

Is it just me who thinks this is, like, ROTF funny? I can't stop laughing. No offense, KB, but this post comes out of nowhere, we haven't heard from you since you signed up (sort of), and hardly are we discussing the trading value of a BTL, comes KB out of nowhere, "skimming over the pages, looking for the BTL in the pass".

Perhaps it is the Camus I had, but I think this is the funniest line so far in this entire thread. Good job KB! You made my day.

I can almost see where K-boy is coming from so you can't fault him though. Although all this talk might be for nothing since IF David puts one in, there's a good chance it won't make it past that shady Mexican guy going after him

and why does that not surprise me? ;) :p

Ok well, first off, NorCal didn't say anything about what pass, and I didn't know I needed to stay in contact everyday to keep in a pass. It's never been like that before Eins. I usually read the current posts on passes I'm in and make sure there's no trouble in "pass-a-dise". since everything is moving very smoothly and quickly, and the p/t's look excellent from all, I didn't think a comment was really needed from me aka the peanut gallery. I'm not mad, just wondering if you guys felt I've left my thoughts out of anything. Sorry again. And browndevil is dead on the money, if a BTL goes in, it ain't going far! lol

K-boy, I just re-read the last few posts and want to say I'm sorry if my response to you came over as offensive. Honestly, I didn't mean to offend you and it was all in good fun. But fun I had.
I think one should follow a pass as it moves along, even if one is toward the end and the pass has just started. It is like going to a movie that came with a recommendation because the ending is very strong. You still want to see it from the start. But I understand other folks have different agendas, so I'll lean back and just watch for a while.

Done any kayaking lately? I haven't since I sold mine. I used it to scuba-dive from. Was great fun. You can read about it at kayakdiving.com

Yup, I've got that BTL all ready to go in this pass, The January Pass. Funny though, I was looking at it last night and it has a natural cap and is wrapped counter clockwise, does that mean anything? Geez, I would've traded it for one of those PAM '26's but since their all gone ..... LOL!

Thanks everyone for the help with the p/t idea's, even those not posting to this thread directly, it really does help a newbie.

I just put everything in a spreadsheet and noticed that we skipped number 33. Is this just my oversight or is it just blank?

Edit: Oops. we have two number 40.

BTLs have been known to be wrapped both ways, with either the light or the dark cap. No real significance there one way or another [that said, BTLs are cool looking cigars  ]

Actually maduro cap BTL's are quite rare. Counter clockwise are not as rare but are slightly rarer than clockwise. That is the Rareness chart. :)
