The January Pass

I would start getting excited but I'm practicing restraint. I'm near the end of the list and I believe penty of changes will occur.

You're in a good spot then. The way I understand passes, they are supposed to get better with age, just like the object of our desire.

I'll be watching how it evolves.

That is the general idea Eins but lately the passes been plagued with drama.
This one seems to be going just smoothly, and we can only hope nothing will change.
Can't imagine it should though, great line-up, host, participants blah blah blah :sign:

Thursday is my day off and, the cigar gods willing, the box is going to get here then. Yeah, right!

Anyway, I've drooled over the list long enough now (my poor keyboard!) and came up with this tentative p/t scenario:

Takes:
2.Ashton - Double Corona
6.Fuente Don Carlos - Presidente
12.La Gloria Cubana - Wavell
17.PAM '64 - Torp.
18.PAN '26 #6
19.PAM '26 #9

Puts:
34. Quai D'Orsay Gran Corona 6 1/8 x 42, 4/04 ISOM
35. San Cristobal de la Habana El Morro 7" x 49, 2/02 ISOM
36. El Rey del Mundo Choix Supreme 5 x 48, 8/03 ISOM
37. Upmann #2 Torpedo 6 1/8 x 52, (Class A) 5/02 ISOM
38. San Cristobal de la Habana El Morro 7" x 49, 2/02 ISOM
39. Trinidad Fundadores '98 ISOM
and because I don't want to put only ISOMs,
40. Indian Tabac Natural
41. CAO Gold

My Trini Fundi would be put by BrownDevil unless NorCalCigarLover wants it, then BD has to ship it to him

But then, I have a newbie sampler coming from lucasbuck. Who knows which goodies it has in store for me. It might change things around quite a bit, so don't get your hopes up just yet  :p

damn why couldn't i have been after EINS.. Lots of nice habanos on there I have not tried..

Damn is right, and it's coming to me soon! Nice puts there EINS. I haven't had any of those Habanos yet. Looking forward to grabbing some of those.

First the good news: The Pass Arrived! In good shape.

Now the bad news: there aren't any. Which makes it--more good news.

I'll pretty much stick with my tentative plan, only a slight change. Will post when I'm done and it will all be good.

This should go back out today to NorCalCigarLover, if the post office is still open. I don't want to rush the hands of time!

Hmmm, where did I read this before? ;)

BS! You get this pass out today!

Hmmmm, where did i read that before? ;)

I'm done. Spreadsheets are updated on the enclosed floppy.
I added an extended spreadsheet with a column for put-numbers so we can see which put is for which take. I also added a column for vitola/name, so we can add information to the sticks we are putting, like age, and other significant specifics.
I leave it up to the following members of this pass which way they want to go with the spreadsheets.

Here is my final p/t list:

Takes:
2.Ashton - Double Corona
3.Ashton Robusto
6.Fuente Don Carlos - Presidente
17.PAM '64 - Torp.
18.PAN '26 #6
19.PAM '26 #9
20.PAM '26 #9 :p

Puts:
34. Quai D'Orsay Gran Corona 6 1/8 x 42, 4/04 ISOM
35. San Cristobal de la Habana El Morro 7" x 49, 2/02 ISOM
36. El Rey del Mundo Choix Supreme 5 x 48, 8/03 ISOM
37. Upmann #2 Torpedo 6 1/8 x 52, (Class A) 5/02 ISOM
38. San Cristobal de la Habana El Morro 7" x 49, 2/02 ISOM
39. Trinidad Fundadores '98 ISOM (being added by BrownDevil)
40. Trinidad Fundadores '98 ISOM (being added by BrownDevil)
and for bonus sticks,
40. Indian Tabac Natural
41. CAO Gold

I am starting a host bag with a San Cristobal de la Habana El Morro 7" x 49, 2/02 ISOM.

I am also adding some QUIZZ BAGS ... marked with a question mark, one for each of you, if you want. These are yard gars and I actually think they are not bad. Whoever is first guessing it right will get a bonus stick mailed. To give everyone the same chance, don't post your guess before the pass is finished or the quizz is off.

You're taking BOTH 1926 #9s?

Hmmmm cough BS.....cough cough :p

Could have saved a brother one. Hopefully your Trinis don't get damaged in transit ;)

I figured the #9s are easier to get than the Trini '98s. Also, I checked with a FOG whether it is considered bad etiquette to take both. It is not, and there were no rules in this pass prohibiting it. Sorry if you had your eye on one of them and I understand that the Trinis are not really a magnet for you :p However, if you want to give me two Trinis for one of the #9, we can talk  ...cough... :whistling:

Anyway, if the pass thinks it is a booboo, f*&% you. J/K, I still have the box, it was too late for getting it shipped. Packing it all up nicely took some time and the post office--do they ever work at all? So, if you all think it is not right, then I will open it again and change something. ???

Robert, I have your 2 QDO in there too. When I sleeved them, they were in perfect condition ;)

I'm listening...

Naw I got no issue with it, nor would I if I was the host. Although some of the participants are probably mumbling **** under their breath :p

Don't ya just love a drama free pass

Wait guys. I just remembered.. Umm I forgot my pen in there.. I think the pass has to come back my way with the new ISOM's :whistling:

I'll take care of you. I opened the box again and took your pen out. Unfortunately, when I put it down on the chair, the dog ate it, so now I can't send it to you :0 unless you want it wrapped in the dog?

Gives a new meaning to the word dog rocket :p

Don't sweat it Ree Ree....I look into the crystal ball, and see you having a '26 sometime soon :p

mumble, mumble ....... my PAM '26 #9 is gone? Darn it! I don't think I have anything to put for those Trini's as of yet, everything is in transport.

No problem's with it at all Eins, those were some awesome puts. The ever changing dynamics of the pass is half the fun in all of this. I'm already going through the humidor trying to find something to put. Any ideas what I can take for a AF BTL?

It is not up to me to decide this but the way I see it, an AF BTL is equal to or above everything currently in the pass (wait, my quizzgars are better :p ). While one of the rules says you should put an ISOM for an ISOM, I think the level of your BTL is making up for that. It is really for the host to approve, though.

Now I wish I was after you

Eins, those are some very fine puts and takes.
remember, all's fair in love and cigar passes [well, within reason]

And thanks so far to everyone in this. looks like the pass will run nice and smoothly the whole way.

well, the isom for isom rule is not cut into stone.
the BTL could pretty much cover anything in the pass right now.

Remember guys, will be on vacation from tommorrow at 1pm until mon feb 7th at 9am.
save the 2-day bus ride ea. way, will be checking in on the pass so don't worry about me going AWOL. My cell phone # is on the pass sheet, feel free to call with any queries.
