Ten New Cigar Box Clocks For Sale

There has always been and there will always be that flippin' 10%.

Doc.

See, This is exactly what I mean. Its the way people say things around here and the tone.

Bob

You're right Bob!
Fellow noobs, let's all join together and FIGHT THE MAN! We'll change the way things are done around here once and for all!
These fogs don't have our best interests in mind...they want all the good cigars for themselves. Jeez, you guys get all worked up over nothing. If you don't want a box-clock, don't buy one!

Yours in newbness,
Sarcastic1

 Too funny Josh
I was just thinking I haven’t seen you around much, how are things going?

I have never had any dealings with Wade so I have no opinion on his clock dealings. My point was a war of words. See your choice words noobs that is exactly what I mean. It is a put down IMO that is Inflammatory. CC I'm not here to defend Wade. My comments are geared more toward how to prevent these types of word wars. You see small comments sometimes start big wars.

Inflammatory? Now that's rich. You're a noob~newbie~new guy Bob....so put your time in and cure it. :sign:

Bob

*sigh*

Noob is not an insult, unless you find yourself insulted - then it's just humorous. Seriously, you shouldn't be insulted and please don't accuse someone of being inflammatory for using that classic terminology.

In the context that you used the word noob it was a put down IMO.You dont have to agree with me. If you look at your next response to me it becomes very clear your tone and what you were impling IMO.
You might have said you guys rather than noobs. I was trying to give insight to the veterans here with some perspective from a newer member. Noob can be construde as a put down when coming from a Veteran depending how it is stated.

Bob

Best of luck surviving the rigors of membership, Bob. :)

Noob, newbie, new guy, is not inflammatory nor is it disrespectful; it’s simply a term for someone who has not been around very long. It’s really no different than a rookie being called a rookie on a baseball or football team.

I think where you feel like the context/tone was taking against you is because generally when a thread like this gets heated it is best for newbie’s to stand back watch and learn IMHO.

Hell, I’m a noob myself and proud of it.

Damn: That's quite the lineup. Nobody step out of line. The meanies are just waiting to pounce (heehee) on us for NO REASON.

Are you calling us noobs BEER? I am offended, and will be reporting your post to the CP moderators.

There has always been and there will always be that flippin' 10%.

One each side, no less. Maybe that'll leave the good cigars for the 80% in the middle...

EDIT: Not sure that came out right or if it matters... was just trying to say that the "flippin' 10%" has members from all the different groups on the board...

Holy Jumpin' Newblers!
You really are not serious... are you? ??? Are you REALLY so thin skinned that a comment, as innocuous as Noob... n00b... newbie... newblette..., bothers you? Good Grief...

I don't give a damn whether you are Mother Teresa, the Devil, Bill Gates or the man with the most cigars collected in history: get this... you. are. a. newb. PERIOD. You do NOT have the time in here - that make you a newb. Who cares if you've been smoking cigars since they were invented, you were born or any other point in time? Christ, I've been here over two YEARS now, smoking cigars for 10 years, and I still consider myself a newb. newb newb newb. It doesn't bother me in the slightest, but then most comments never do. It has to do with time served here at CP. From the previous posts, you have knowledge and experience with cigars... great. But you certainly do not 'get it' as far as this site is concerned. "My comments are geared more toward how to prevent these types of word wars." - case in point. if you were really serious about that comment, then you would not even be posting about a WORD used on every new person that swings thru here. EVERY ONE. That comment right there is one that will START word wars. And the whole pre-'02 Siglo thread did NOT show you trying to prevent word wars, in my opinion. Personally, you seem like most of the young, hot headed start up smokers that meltdown in a short period of time here because they don't like the way it is run and they want, and try, to change things. And you say you've been smoking for a long time!

This whole crap with Wade and the clocks is so trivial... so minor that personally, it pisses me off that it got this far. I've never dealt with him, but I would think that in his time here he would KNOW prices are always posted - how many times have new members posted items for bid, new websites that have no prices and so on? I can remember quite a few. Personally (and this is MY OPINION) I think he does it to get the attention- the firestorm will come down and then he'll get to defend himself, call a few members evil and whatnot and soak up the attention. Some will always come to his aid, and others will not. Brandon's trade with him is an interesting light in this whole debacle however... and he was supposed to bring it to his attention? What ever happened to being stand up in the trade from the start?

As far as the "Kiss my ass' comment, well, I can say that I will not deal with him in the future, just because of it. And if anyone wants to throw my "comments don't bother me" back at me, it's not the comment that bothers me, but rather the attitude. I don't care how bad things are, who is piling on, what comments are being said - there are better and more stand up ways to handle it than 'Kiss My Ass'.

see y'all next week... and hopefully this crap will be over and done with, and we can get back to stand up trades, buy, splits and the things relating to cigars that makes this board top notch.

But the song, Kiss My Ass is so damn funny.

I like it.

Remember the 02 pre released siglo 6s with the old bands. ;)

Not only do I remember them. I smoked one last night right after I smoked one of the new maduro 5's. Pretty damn good combination of smokes.

I know a few (just a FEW - somewhere around 10%) rookies who take insult in being called a "rookie". And most others accept the title as a part of the process of becoming something other than a rookie.

What's really ironic - most of the people (if not all) that don't have issues with being called a "rookie" and don't believe it to be some kind of demeaning thing - seem to survive better in the long run. And they are also the group that believe in the rules, follow the rules - and if they want to change the rules follow a tried and true process for changing the rules...

...the other group of "rookies" constantly walk around with a chip on their shoulder. They hate the title, they hate the rules and they generally hate being told what to do. Management is there for no other purpose then to make life miserable for them. Coworkers with tenure are always "talking down" to them. They are the "dinosaurs", after all - what do they know - their ideas are antiquated, they are not nearly as knowledgeable as the "rookie's"...

I sometimes wish I could understand the thought process. And then other times I just figure - it is what it is...

As for ripping me off, Wade shorted me on a trade. I traded for a lighter and a cigar. For whatever reason Wade decided not to include the cigar. I really only wanted the lighter so it was not a big deal.

Brandon
All you had to do was say so and I'd have been happy to take care of it. But if it was really no big deal, you're sure making it into one and not really sure why you're bringing it up now. All you had to do was let me know.

Wade: It looks like he did let you know, over a month ago : See here for original post.

Wow that is some response Wade. I think you surprised a lot of people with your "shut the fuck up ole' man." Don't worry you didn't surprise me. ;) I don't care if you don't like someone, but you don't have to resort to that; it was uncalled for.

Brandon

P.S. what ever happened to that Davidoff Robusto you said you would send for my secret Santa kid with the lighter I traded for from you??

P.S. what ever happened to that Davidoff Robusto you said you would send for my secret Santa kid with the lighter I traded for from you??
It was sent on a timley basis along with several other sticks. If your person didn't reiceve it and you knew about it, you should've just let me know, I woud've been more than happy to send something elso. Months later, who knows.

Brandon: Please make sure you post an update when this trade issue has been completely resolved to your satisfaction.
