Star in a Reasonably Priced Car Pass

I think that the "standard" 1495 is corojo - not that I'd object to any of the others of course.

Looking at boxprices, the Cusano for Hoyo Dark Sumatra is a little light. (4.44 vs. 2.80 a stick at Famous - I'm not at my laptop so I can't look at the cigarcyclopedia price spread, but eyeballing google shopper's first page of results leads me to believe that that's roughly accurate) The boxes are about the same price, but there are only 18 in a box of Cusano, 25 in a box of Hoyo.

If you'd like to propose another put for the Cusano, another take for the Hoyo, or both - the world's your oyster.

You are right on the price of the Cusano vs the HdM. My error. :( I used cigarcyclopedia, but somehow came up with a much lower price. Too many interruptions when I was doing it I guess.

I will change the Cusano take to:
T. #37. Rocky Patel Sungrown Robusto.
P. #58 Hoyo de Monterey Dark Sumatra Ebano

As far as the La Aurora 1495 wrapper goes, this is how it was listed when I bought them. Linky

Hope this answers everyones questions. If not, let me know. Sorry for the screw up.

USPS tells me the box has been delivered! You've got a box waiting for you Boomer!

I will change the Cusano take to:
T. #37. Rocky Patel Sungrown Robusto.
P. #58 Hoyo de Monterey Dark Sumatra Ebano

Can I ask where you're getting your prices for comparison? That one's well off the mark, too, as far as I can tell (although I'm always open to additional information). If you'd like to put the Hoyo in (it's a good stick and would certainly be a good put), I'd be glad to suggest sticks in the same price bracket.

The comparison shopper has the RP Sungrown at $5. I have been looking at this thread on and off all day. ( not much to do today at work.)
With all that free time, I should have been doing the research and asked questions. Next time.

My sincerest apologies to Marco and the group. I have reviewed my pricing spread sheet and found a few errors. The two cigars I proposed as takes for the HdM were two of them. I should not have put the spread sheet together when I could not give it my full attention. Lesson learned.

The package did arrive yesterday so I will get it turned as soon as I get final approval on my P’s & T’s.

Revision 2:
T. #22 Jericho Toro
P. #58 Hoyo de Monterey Dark Sumatra Ebano

Again, sorry for the errors.

1. JdN Celebracion, good little cigar. Great for mowing the lawn with. Nothing offensive. REVIEW LINKY
2. Rare Corojo Punch Magnum. I like the price on these guys. Remember to get the wrapper wet before lighting. The wrapper will crack. REVIEW LINKY
3. Argenese Figuardo Maduro. Unique flavor. Never had one taste like this. I thought someone might want to try before they buy.
REVIEW LINKY another LINKY
4. JdN Antano 1970. Careful! Very strong cigar. Have one after a full meal. I have a bunch of these in my humidor SMOKE ON THE WATER
5. Reyes Family Premier. I was lucky enough to get a free shirt and free cigar from Reyes. They posted HERE See REVIEW LINKY. A friend of mine who has been a smoker for years liked it as well. I recommend this cigar because it is cheap when on sale and not bad at all.
9. Cx2. I have a box of these and I am a big fan of Cameroon wrappers. Since we have two of the Aniv ones, I thought a swap would be good to add more variety. I do like this smoke and again remember to get the wrapper wet before smoking. It is dry out there and this will save you the headache of seeing a cracked wrapper.
10. Padilla 68. What more can I say? This review says it all. LINKY

Now *THERE* is some serious put and take! Well done. I can't review prices right now, but this is an awesome swap.

Not a big deal - don't worry about it. Errors caught, no harm, no foul. You'll enjoy the Jericho. Good stick, great value, and very mod-art band, too :)

Don't forget to post your reviews!

Hi everyone - quick update. Bu11dog is back, to go in his original position (no. 5, after Nimrod).

Nimrod, I'm going to spend a few seconds looking over your p/t's - there are a lot of unders, which I'm a little wary of. (since the ratchet works down as well as up.) Not saying no, not saying yes, just saying wait a little while.

Way to go Kevin, glad to see you back brother.

I just hope I didn't pressure you into it.

Sam

Thanks Sam, there were more than a few of you who helped change my mind, I usually don't do that but that's a testiment to all of you here. I'll take a look at what's in the box and try to get myself ready.

WOO HOO! Glad to see you rejoining, brother!

Ok, here we go with why these smokes are stars. Keep in mind that I am still rather new to cigars and, unless they hit me between the eyes, can’t pick out that many flavors as others can do.

Oliva Series “O” Torpedo Habano Wrapper. I found this to be a medium strength cigar that is much milder than the maduro version. It has a very pleasant tobacco taste with a flavor I can’t quite place.

La Aurora 1945 Series Robusto. This is a medium to full cigar. Not as bold as I expected them to be, but a very nice cigar with a good taste.

Padron 2000 Maduro. As Marco-Polo said in the original list, enough has been said about this cigar.

CAO Brazilia Piranha. This is a strong small cigar with a bold tobacco flavor. I originally bought these because of their size. Something to go to when I did not have a lot of time. They surprised me by burning somewhat slowly and lasting 45 – 55 minutes. At least for me. I very much like the taste of these and will be trying some of the other sizes as well.

Hoyo de Monterey Dark Sumatra Ebano. This cigar is listed as being full strength/flavor. I however would classify them as medium. This is one of my favorite cigars and the only one I have bought in any quantity. They are very smooth and have a slight earthy flavor. They definitely do mellow with age as well. The one I put in the pass has about five months on it.

Marco- Polo, thanks for letting me play. I will be following this pass to the end to see what everybody else likes.

Dave

Since it is unknown, try licking it and tell us what it tastes like.

It tasted like grapes. You can try it yourself and let us know what you think. Just don't lick the same spot I did.

It on it's way.

Edit to add: Inventory in order and humidifier doing fine. The box is starting to show some wear and tear but still in good shape.

Welcome back Kevin...it wouldn't have been the same without ya' bro

Come on now, I don't know about you guys, but I want a cigar out of a humidor made from a grandfather clock

I have 3 or 4 in the Clock'idor that I'm looking to swap and I just sampled one overnight from a local B&M that only sellls stuff they have custom blended and rolled for them. It was surprisingly pleasant so I'm going to pick some up and give them "clock" time before they get swapped.
