Chip - sorry to see that you couldn't make a set of p/t's work out.

To all: what Chip did, withdrawing and forwarding the pass along, is a legitimate good-faith option. Not a preferred option, but lesson learned.

This is a great pass, and I sure it will be emulated by the other BOTL.

I keep a cost basis on my cigars, and based on personal preference, follow a strick exchange protocol. This is my personal choice, not necessarily what all pass participants must or should do.

Many of my puts were purchased through sources at box prices, and based on my price calculations, I could not reach a 4 for 4 exchange that I was comfortable. Even with Marco's help I could only achieve a 3 for 3 which is not within the pass rules. I received the pass on 1/22, and it was not fair to drag this out any further as I had it a week. I had to ship today to avoid further delay.

So, respectfully, the right thing to do was to not hold this up.

If two people pick the same winning temp, the first to post that number wins the prize. No edited posts will be accepted.

ALL ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED BY MIDNIGHT FRIDAY, EASTERN STANDARD TIME

We'll all be partying that day and it could slip by....so if someone sees it on TV and you are close to a computer or have a Crackberry, iBrick, or DumbPhone..... make a post to the Pass. I'll announce the winner on Monday.

Well I've been at work since 4:30 this morning and still have a couple hours to go. I lit up the Astral at 1:45 and it now 3:15 ! This sucker was like 8" long. Nice smoke though. I figured I could relax with it since I have such a long day. Not sure where to find these but I could stand to have a couple in the clock'idor at all times. I don't know enough to describe the taste but it has a nuance to it I really like.
 
They are quite nice, aren't they? Like a lot of quite good mild-medium cigars, they were caught moving the wrong way in a market shift. They've been out of production for a while, as I recall, and they wear their age well.

That's too bad it had a really nice taste and burned awesome even considering the wind it had to put up with.
 
Contest Results....sorta :whistling:

Hope everyone had a great Super Bowl day of partying....I sure did. Leading up to the kickoff, I was busy cooking (Bacon Explosion!), eating and drinking at my buddy's house and put everyone on alert. I told our group to be on the lookout for the temp info we needed. No one saw or heard anything about game time temperature other than an earlier report by Al Roker. So I went to the booth for a video review....I DVR'd the game starting at 6PM yesterday....and watched the 25 minute lead up to the kickoff and the first quarter (earlier this morning) and didn't see a graphic on the screen or hear it mentioned.

I just went to the Weather Channel's website and found yesterdays weather in Tampa....LINK....The temp at 6:05PM was 67, sun down at 6:10PM, and the temp at 7:05PM was 65....so with a game time kickoff at 6:25PM, I am declaring the correct winning number at 66 degrees. Being that NBC dropped the ball, I'm changing the rules!

JUST LIKE IN THE NFL, ANY DISPUTABLE PLAY OCCURRING IN THE FINAL 2 MINUTES, NO CHALLENGE FLAG CAN BE THROWN AND THE BOOTH REVIEW IS FINAL! :laugh:
