SPRING FEVER PASS (April pass)

IMHO for the BTL for the Tat Cojonu 2003 still doesn't work because you're looking at rarity on the BTL and you have similar prices but the rarity is off. If you were putting something in that goes around $15-$16 and has some rarity to it like an Opus super beli , then that would fly because you can't walk into any B&M and find a super beli and you make up for it with the value. Plus you need to make a trade that makes the pass better, not a slightly lower trade in value like that. JMO though. That's for Jay to decide.

Say we wanted to add an ISOM in addition to our trades to add to the final host box, is that acceptable or do we need to stay away from that altogether because of the no ISOM rule? Was that strictly put in for the trades, or for any addition at all?

Dang, back to the GSWOA's...........

Here are my proposed takes and puts; if others are in agreement with Jonesy on the OpusX Super Beli for the BTL I will do that as well. This baby will go out as soon as approved. I will at least take a picture of that little BTL before it leaves. :D

Averages from multiple sources as Jay and Blue Dragon recommended.

T #6 Arturo Fuente Don Carlos Double Robusto ($8.77)
P #72 Ashton VSG Belicoso ($9.24) (Slightly harder to find............I think?)

T #9 Arturo Fuente Hemingway Classic Single ($7.47)
P #73 Tatuaje Reserva J21 ($10.80) (Similarly available.........I think?)

P #74 Cuesta Rey Centro Fino Robusto #7 ($4.75) (Nice little sun grown)

This has been a great learning experience so far, thanks Jay & FOG's
 
The BTL is a pretty rare cigar - and for it to be 3 years old makes it more rare...

Despite the approx. $13.00 value, I would think someone would have put something a tad more valuable and/or rare to take it. You really can't think dollar for dollar with that cigar...

Personally - I would put something like the Davidoff 100th anny Diademas Finas, AVO LE05 or LE07, Ashton ESG, Partagas 160, Opus X Double Corona or "A", AF Casa Fuente, Padron '26 1, 2 or 9, etc. I know it's a lot for that cigar, but that's how I would handle it.

I think you'll really like that Don Carlos - very nice cigar. I also like the Hemingway Classic, but kinda prefer the Maduro over the natural wrapper. I think you'll enjoy both of those cigars, although they'll definitely be a tad milder than your puts! Great mid-afternoon cigars!

And I really like those Cuesta Rey Centro Fino's - very nice smoke!!! Excellent addition!

Yes it does, thank you. I am finding that rarity is something you can't just "look up".

The pass will go out Monday with just the two takes. Plus a whole lot of fun and experience!

This, my first, pass was valuable for me. I learned a little about how to find the "real" value of a stick and a tiny bit about rarity. I also learned a bit about inventory management as I hosted a HERF with buddies and didn't leave myself much worthy trade bait for puts. :(
The funniest part......my better half, after watching me handle the pass, told me "You touch those things softer than you touch me! " Well....I knew there was a comment to be made but I chose discretion.

Nice job Jeff, everything is looking good with the pass. This has been a great way to learn about the whole pass ordeal. We owe Jay a big thanks for getting this off the ground. Thanks Brother ;)
 
Just giving a preliminary heads-up since I'm now "in the hole" on this pass. Depending on how long the next trip takes with P's and T's, there's a chance I might be away when it's ready to come my way. I'll be out of town for Memorial Day weekend (leaving Friday evening, returning Monday afternoon), so if the package is due to arrive on Saturday, I'd request that it be held for one extra day. Since there's no mail on Sunday or Monday, and I'll be around to pick up Friday's delivery, it's really only that Saturday that I'm worried about. I'm sure this will be discussed more as time draws nearer, but I wanted to throw that out now just in case.

Okay, I finally got my pictures. These were taken in the Allegheny national Forest on May 4th & 5th.

Sunlight rarely hits these mountain streams due to the dense evergreen forest so the water is frigid and on a warm spring day they create fog in the morning.
