If a slot opens, the stars align and I can get a day or three of leave I'll see if I can attend. I am supposed to be in DC the following monday, so maybe I can drive up to NY, hang out for a couple days and drive back to DC.

I've been watching this thread and trying to figure a way to wrangle a trip to New York...then, last week my wife says "I've been thinking about going to visit my mother and I'd like you to come along." (her family lives in CT)....All the normal excuses flood my brain, but somehow I manage to say "That would be fun. Maybe we could turn it into a weekend away for us."...Later in the conversation, I slide in "Hey, there's a cigar get together the weekend of the 17th...we could do both." She thought it was a great idea! At this point, I'm flying thinking to myself how the planets had to align for this to work out....

Then I go read the thread carefully for the details and see that the herf is full!

Got room for two more? I know you are already busting at the seams...we haven't bought our plane/car/hotel tickets yet, but would like to soon. I could also use a hotel recommendation in the local area.

Charlie - I feel bad about putting the sqeeze on ya...well, not that bad! :laugh:

Hey Joe, what Tommy and Anthony said goes. Either way, your in my brother since we use too herf together for 2+ years all over Florida. Heck, you were there the night ole' Sir-Smokes-Alot puked in the back seat pulling into Downtown Disney after a night of cigar smoking with Jonathan Drew (Owner of Drew Estates for those that don't know) Superbowl weekend 2004....... :thumbs:

In reference to a Motel / Hotel, I'm already checkin' out the local ones within the vacinity and I'll post it as soon as I get the info.

I just talked with the receptionist at the Days Inn of Newburgh which is right down the road on Rt 300 next to the Harley Davidson Shop. It is the closest hotel and has the best pricing around. The pricing for a queen room is $70.07 if you have a Government / Military ID and / or normally it is $77.85 which the prices include all taxes. When you call the phone number 845-564-7550, make sure you make your reservations through the receptionist and not through a hotels.com ect as they are higher. I just put my house on the market but I am hoping to be able to make it up there on Feb 17th. From the NAssau/Suffolk border; ho wlong shoul dit take me to get up there?

Slider, I use to live in Bellmore and I would say on a Saturday that would be about an hour and fourty five minutes, 2 hours tops. If you want easy directions PM and I will type them and PM them to you. I use to make the trip from Bellmore to Albany every weekend before I moved upstate permenantly. I still have family in Bellmore, and still make the trip a few times a year.
