"Leavin Sam in the Cold" Pass

Sweet Melissa,

Unfortunately I am going to have to pull out of your pass. I am taking the family on our annual vacation and won't be home to accept the pass. Sorry its taken so long to let everyone know but I was hoping that the pass may have gotten to me before I was leaving :(

Congrats on your first pass :D

Since I'm on deck- can I ask a quick question...

Are we supposed to remove 1 personal item, and put 1 personal item?
or just add 1 to whats already there???? Just want to make 100% sure.

-Toaster

i think we're supposed to do a swap.

we can put extra things in there too if we want.

it's crazy.

well, i took one thing and put some stuff in there as well.

My advice was asked for on the take/put.

I pointed out that price-wise/MSRP it was a good trade. However, the Siglo VI's are fairly easy to find and get. The Padron 1926 #1 Maduro is very very hard to find. So I suggested that while it would mean more on his end of the trade, that putting a couple Siglo VI's in for the 1926 would be a more fair trade under the circumstances. He decided not to.

All is good and well and it is a hard cigar to do a good take/put for. Just keep in mind that while MSRP-wise there are several sticks that would equal the 1926 Maduro, the rarity of it is what comes into question when doing a trade for it.

1926, Hard to get???? 9 out of 12 local shops here in Columbus, Ohio are well stocked with them :p . A little pricie :0 , but well stocked.

I sure wish I could find the Siglo Series that easy, but we all know that is not going to happen any time real soon!!!

Well, how hard something is to find is all on where you are I guess. I have to find pretty much everything I get on the net so for me a Siglo VI from overseas somewhere is way easier to find then a Padron 1926 Madie. You want a Siglo VI I'll turn you on to my connection, I have three in the humi right now. :D No Pam's or Pan's though.

LOL :D :D @ Gibu....

Had to check into it myself last week...Went to a shop Friday that I do not buy too much from any more (I pretty much just buy ISOM's) and picked up a 1926 #1 Maddie for our good brother Fishy...(Merry Christmas :D ! Headed your way today or tomorrow! I'll send one of the smaller ones your way Gibu! :p :p you can edit your post after it arrives ;) )...

I picked up the sampler for less than $18 a stick....(closer to $17 actually...got a good deal for old times stake)...Owner said they go pretty fast (regular boxes) when he gets 'em but he's had them every time I've stopped by. He was out of the #1's by the box but had three other sizes stocked...Didn't check to see which were nats and which were maddies but at any rate he said they will probably disappear for the holiday$....

Seasons Greetings!

Well, how hard something is to find is all on where you are I guess. I have to find pretty much everything I get on the net so for me mentioning something to Kurt is way easier then sending all the way to Switzerland for something and then having to pay for it as well. :p

Thats very nice of you Kurt. You allready got my PM's trying to talk you out of it, so I'll just say thank you again. Thats very nice of you.

I can only think and say that it being around the holiday's they have release some more 1926 Maduro's. The one in the pass however is from their original release. Now for some people, there is no difference between an "original release" and later releases, while for others the fact that it is an "original release" is a big deal and a paoint of contention in regards to trading.

At the time that I gave Melly the cigar to be put into her pass, it was considered "rare" and I know "I" couldn't find the #1 Maduro's locally or online. Just shows you how fast things can chage in the cigar world. My advisement on the trade was based off of that original information I had to go on in regards to that stick and was not meant to hinder or otherwise be such a hangup as it has turned out to be. It was meant to add an even better element to an already pretty awesome start to her first pass.

*Thread Jack On*

You know, to thread jack just slightly, I remember when Ashton VSG's first came out and everyone was flipping out about how strong they were and how you couldn't smoke them standing up because you might fall down and all that. Then that aspect of things went away over time. Still an awsome smoke for sure, but all the initial hype is gone. I read an article at some point speculating that the initial VSG release was way stronger in fact because they hadn't had time to age and mellow as they have since then. Just speculation but makes sense to me. The initial hype alone though would be enough to make an original release VSG very valuable indeed to me no matter what its actual book value. I'm a goofy pack rat though so probably not the best example.
