Are you the driver???
Naw I’m too old. My son in law is the driver. The picture is my grand daughter. She had a very good day because daddy won.

My part on the team is basically to help do whatever is asked. And cook. Which is never really asked I just start doing it because that’s how I roll.

The final run was 5.31 at I think 267 mph? Just one step below top fuel. But for a small team they really bust their ass, and it’s starting to pay off for them.

Ran against Tony Stewart a couple times last year, but he is mostly doing top fuel now, and we are top alcohol.

But the team we beat was the team that Stewart was driving with last year, so pretty cool achievement in my opinion.

Technically age doesn’t play a part in it. I’d have to get my license and have a car to drive to do that. Then I suppose I could. But I’d be way too nervous about breaking anything. It’s not a cheap sport.

They run a blower (supercharger), but the team we went against is nitro injected so a bit closer to top fuel cars. But blower cars were kinda the start of the class. And they can run as fast if not faster. Just about the tuning. Nhra limits the speed to 5 flat, then you would need a different chassis (top fuel or so I’ve been told) and that chassis may not be right for this class of racing.

that is VERY cool!!!

that is VERY cool!!!
I probably failed to explain they run their own custom machining, racing parts, tuning business. I’m very proud of them, following the dream as they say. They are young so time is on their side. Just so happy in their success thus far.

And man it was a long weekend! Lol! Best part was the track saw the bad weather coming today and pushed the program to complete last night.

Good thing because it rained all morning! Can’t race in the rain!

This is our pit area. Stuff on the left is the race team, stuff on the right is the parents (us and his). My truck and trailer is in the front, his folks have a motorhome in the back(hard to see). But it worked out well for this race.

Also cool of all the younger kids that stopped by for an autograph on their shirt/hat etc. Hard to do and work on your stuff but he always finds time for the fans. :)
