At least they got some sense overthere. The Boston commute will be a nightmare. No code anything. This will be the first Nor'easter of the year. Kind of a puny one actually. Won't be cold enough or windy enough for a blizzard.

Doc.

Snowing and I have my car inspection today. Taking coffee with me in the thermos.

Good morning all - 6:18 on the West coast.

Just post padding, getting close to 2,000 :D

Good morning all and yes, as they predicted, we have a "Code Red" at West Point all day:

http://cgi.usma.edu/WeatherConditions/

"WEST POINT IS CODE RED ALL DAY." Only employees in emergency positions should report to work. Employees in non-emergency positions should not report to work until their next regularly scheduled workday.

I got a fresh pot of coffee on and I'll probably make a batch of pancakes for breakfast. I'm glad they did call a code red cause driving over the mountain would have been very dangerous and this way they can clean up all the roads and parking lots for tommorrow with no problem. Hope the rest of you in the path of the storm get to stay home as well and stay out of harms way......... :)

Good morning everyone and yes, the coffee is on. It was nice that they gave us the day off yesterday since the roads were very dangerous to drive on. One of my vehicles is a 92' Jeep Wrangler with the 4.0 engine and it's lifed up 4 extra inches and I run 31 x 11.50 x 16 tires, so I had no problem gettin' around. After I putted around the house a bit, I got all bundled up and went over to my brother-in-law Roy's house which is roughly 4 miles away. Roy is not doing to good and he's going through chemotherapy now and I wanted to make sure he could get out if need be. After I shoveled him out, I went over to Schlesingers and shoveled out the entrances for them and Glenna thanked me with a nice Ashton VSG Illusion. I sat back and enjoyed it very much with great company while watching the snow / sleet continue to fall. Glenna did let me know that she is getting in a new shipment of VSGs today and for all of you that are coming to the Quad State Herf, it's time to stock up. As for today, hit the link in the above post to get the updated weather from West Point. We have a Code Red until 1000 hrs, outstanding:

"WEST POINT IS CODE RED UNTIL (slated time)" Employees should not report until the announcement time. Supervisors will excuse absences without charge to leave for all employees affected whether or not leave was previously approved. Employees who do not report for work by the announced time will be charged leave for the remainder of their absence if it was properly requested and approved.

I hope all of you have a safe day today and don't over due it if your not use to shovelling. Enjoy a ceegar or two if you get the chance and for all you local S/BOTL, I'll be at Schlesinger's tonight for a relaxing evening....... :)

No one here is complaining about all the snow. Snow is money. Flatlanders will be comming in droves this W/E to ski, snowmobile and pay our rooms and meals tax and buy our cheap booze and cigs. Ya got to love Tax free NH.

Doc.

Good morning everyone and TGIF. The coffee is on and we are just one day from the Quad State Herf II. I talked with a number of you on the phone yesterday and a few of the regulars last night at Schlesingers and everyone is excited and all. Tonight I'll be busy making the "goodie bags" and hangin' out with my brother Frank (Big100HD) and Tom (hudsonvalley). Frank is leavin' Virginia this morning and should be here around 2:30 - 3:00 as long as he doesn't catch any large traffic jams. I'm gonna be headin' over to Schlesingers tommorrow around 1:00 to set things up and if your early, the cigar store is open and they have seating in there for 5 or so and Steve will welcome you with open arms. Don't forget to check out the "Herf Contest" thread that Tom started last night and make your guess. Don't forget, this is a contest for the S/BOTL that can not attend the event. Anyway, hope all of you have a super weekend and enjoy as well........ :)

Working on my first pot of Nicaraguan Knife Fight while reading this thread. I just wanted to say that I hope everyone has a great time at the Quad State Herf!!

Killer Beans are on the way, and since all of you had so much to drink last year I think you're going to need some coffee!

Good morning! I guess i'll go brew a pot of joe, i need to order some Killer Beans! It's 23 here right now, which is COLD for this part of the country.

Good morning all and the coffee is on. Well, today's the big day for our annual "Quad State Herf", woooooo hoooooooo. A lot of time and effort went into puttin' this together and I'm sure that it will be another great event. First off, I want to personally thank all the sponsors for being so generous and secondly for all of you for being so responsive. After all, it's about getting together and smoking great cigars and helping out the "Twin Towers Fund". Right now I have a crock pot full of Polish kelbasi and I'm about to make a batch of homefries and my brother-in-law Micheal that is coming to the Herf dropped a fresh 2 pound loaf of great German Rye bread. I have a few folks coming over for brunch to ensure that we have a little food in our stomachs before we celibrate. I'll be headin' over to Schlesingers around 1:00 to set up and I think I have everything we need. For those of you than can't make it, remeber to go to Tom's (hudsonvalley) thread and place your guess as to how close you can come to what we get from the raffle. I hope everyone has a great weekend ans smokes a number of great cigars....... :)

Started the day late with a good cup of java and a good cigar. I just want to let Charlie know that we all appreciate all his effort on the herf. Thanks, Stogieman for working so hard behind the scenes to give us all a time we will not soon forget. Hope all have a great President's Day holiday!!

Keeerist, it's colder than Tobey's touchhole here. It's noon and only 10 above -9 wind chill. That damn flatlander woodchuck don't know jack.

Doc.

Good morning all and hopefully things are back to normal now as this past weekend is finally over. What a blast we had at the Herf and it was great to see all my ole' S/BOTL and all the new ones that I met as well. I'll talk more about the event in the thread itself so not to bore all the ones that don't want to read about it here. Then, how about that Daytona 500 on Sunday, was that an incredable race or what. All in all, it was a super weekend and one that I will not forget for a long long time. Hope all of you have a great week and enjoy........ :)

Oh yeah, the coffee is on!!!!!!!

The aroma of the coffee is beginning to fill the house. The sun is still thinking about getting its lazy self out of bed. It is cold outside, about 20s. Hope everyone has a great week ahead. Enjoy as best as you can.

Brrr, it was a little chilly this morning.

Actually had a bit of frost on the windshield. Nothing that the wipers couldn't handle. :whistling:

Temps should be in the mid to upper 70s this afternoon.
