Also, on the first page pass list, the ERDM should be labeled just a Lonsdale and not "Tainos Lonsdale." The Tainos is a Churchill sized cigar and is different from the Lonsdale.
Coming from someone who has run 6 passes and been in 20+ so far myself, if you see something the pass host made have made a mistake with, send him a pm to let him know about it. No matter how good your intentions may be, it's just not good etiquette to post something like this in the pass thread.

Pass was waiting on me when I got home from work last night. I did a visual inspection of all the sticks and other than minor flaking of the wrapper on the foot of the Padron '26 #35, they all looked good. When I get home tonight, I'll do an inventory, swap out the cigars, spray the puck, and have it ready to go out in the morning.

Jake, you'll need to change my final put from the AF Don Carlos #3 to a CAO Vision Epiphany. The DC had a minor wrapper problem.

Thanks for the update Brian. Change is made. Is the flaking bad? As in, are there small noticeable chunks of the wrapper missing, or is it possibly just flaking in the bag? I'll have to figure out something to do about it. Thanks for the quick turn around. :)

It is the wrapper and not flaking in the bag. I'll swap it out for one of mine tonight. This way you don't need to worry about the flaking getting any worse over the course of the pass.

Very much appreciated man! Thanks for looking out for future passers. I owe ya one!

Jonesy I'll send you another stick to replace yours. I didn't realize that stick had issue. Sorry for the screw up guys.

No need to send another one. This one is still very smokable...it just may not be 5 people down the line.

Ok, I appreciate the advice. I just thought it was general information for the board, didn't realize it was a host mistake, but I totally understand what you're saying. I'll keep it in mind for next time.

Do these $3.00 sticks appreciate that much? I mean, from my understanding the Lonnie is an $18 smoke.

FWIW, it's not the same $3 cigar easily available now. These are individual cedar wrapped cigars in boxes of 10. I actually thought this was well above the lonsdale, which, imo is no where near $18 in value. If they are...I've got a ton of 1999 ERDM Lonsdales available, LOL. If this trade is deemed reasonable though, I will reevaluate.

The ERDM Lonnie is a discontinued cigar and when you add 11 years of age to it, I would say it would take at least a $15 regular production ISOM ( with no age or age factored in) to take it's place. You can get a box of the LSD's (25) for $47, so in my opinion one from 1980 wouldn't be able to take it. Naturally this is Jake's call, but that is my reference point on this particular cigar.

Jeremy, the pass will be headed your way in the morning. I got called in to work today to cover someones shift and wasn't able to get it out. Jake, I humbly apologize for this delay.

Yeah but you can't get 25 of this vitola for that price. Also I can get 99 erdm lonsdales for less than $6 a stick today. I understand what you're saying but since it was traded for a BBF I thought that was where the value was. If you can show me where I can get Los Statos Selectos for $3 a stick I would love to see it.

It was put in place of a BBF, which on Jonesy's part, was very generous. However, It can't be taken with a BBF. That's like someone being generous and putting in a Fuente BBMF for an Illusione Lancero. You couldn't put in 5 Illusione Lanceros to cover the BBMF, that's not how passes work. Some individuals, by nature, are generous. If by your theory, you were able to take a cigar under all circumstances for what it was put in replacement of....should someone be able to take Jonesy's extra (CAO Vision) for free? Obviously not, it's not fair to other passers. The ERDM, as jonesy stated, is discontinued....you won't ever be able to by them again at some point and time, meaning it carries a slight rarity to it. I believe these cigars are normally ~$12.50, and thus it takes a cigar with that price point, plus some slight rarity (or slightly larger price point) in order to take it from the pass. That being said, the third trade won't work.

The Cohiba Siglo VI has an MSRP of $17.16, the Ramon Allones Belicoso has an MSRP of $7.86, This trade isn't even half way to being acceptable.

I am not familiar with the price of an 898 Unvarnished...so if some others can weigh in here, that'd be nice before a decision is made there. A little more thought needs to be put into these P/T's. Remember, it's best to ask yourself..."are you leaving the pass the same or better than you found it out of respect for those passers that come after you?"

Jonesy, no worries on the shipping brother, take your time.

I can get these for $47.30 for 25. Granted they aren't from '96, but I don't think you can make that much up in rarity for 13 years on a $2 stick. Like Jake gave an example, just because an Opus Perfecxion #4 is traded for a Padron '26 #35, doesn't mean you can make the same trade reversed. One other comment I'd like to leave for you guys.....

.....leaving a pass better than you received it doesn't mean you need to make trades that are lopsided in value towards the host. It means if the box it was shipped in looks rough, replace it, if a pen or sharpie is left out before it gets to you, throw another in, if the beads needs rehydrating, spray them with water. It also means taking the extra 20 minutes to make sure all of the listed cigars are in the pass and they're all in good shape. It also means not trying to take advantage of the pass by throwing in a Perdomo Edicion de Silvio maduro salamon for a Chili Pepper from the '07 OPUS CF fun set. Yea, the MSRP is there, but everyone knows these can be had for a fraction of MSRP. You'd be surprised how much this actually goes on in passes. They last thing you want is to have done a quick turnaround to impress the other passers and not do a good inventory and inspection of the cigars. You don't want to be blamed for a missing cigar or a damaged cigar when it's not your fault. Please don't take this as preaching, but as a quick lesson that will prove to be invaluable to you when you start passing ( cigars  ) more frequently. Think of it like this....if this were your pass, would you be happy in sending it on to the next person after you got through with it?

Ok, I see your point and I'll change my Puts and Takes. Just for the record though, the ERDM Lonsdale (if that's what the cigar actually is) is not a 12.50 cigar without age. If that's where we are valuing it for the sake of the pass, I have no problem with it. The ERDM lonsdale is discontinued, but is not all that difficult to find. They are available right now at a well known vendor for under $10 a stick (same year) and I have access to a source with 1999's at significantly less. The Los Statos is also discontinued and once again, is not the same cigar that comes in packs of 25. This specific vitola was packaged in boxes of 10 and individually wrapped in cedar. I thought it would be a unique opportunity for someone to get a chance to pick up a rarer, vintage cigar, but I guess I'll re-evaluate. I'm not here to argue value, I just wanted to clarify some info for the community. Also, the RAB is the UK RE from 2005 (the ones that were strangely sans the RE band) and I don't know where they are available for $7.86, but I think you might be thinking of a different vitola. I thought this one was ok, but if not I'll change it too. If anyone has any questions about the sources I'm referencing, I'd be more than happy to discuss via pm.

As for the 898 UV, it's a slightly different size from the regular 898V and has been discontinued since 2002. It comes in the same packaging as the regular 898, except the boxes have no varnish. If this also is unacceptable, I will go back and start over.

That's the probelm with all these 'sales' and vendors dumping 1999-2001 stock....prices can be tough to match up.

I would say take an range of what people 'were' paying for them...or better yet...what did the person pay!!! ;)

With that said...the 10 pack is going for $47.

This is also why we keep prices and information in threads....SEARCH for the 898 and you may see some prices. :)

edit - the RAB is a lot more than the $8ish suggested.
