FIREFOX - THE BEST WEB BROWSER

As a web programmer, I don't like FireFox. It behaves a lot like Netscape in that it doesn't always handle Javascript correctly, and it doesn't display some bits of HTML correctly.

As a consumer, its pretty good. More secure, better features than Internet explorer. But, I *have* to use IE for my development, and switching between the two would be a hassle, so I just use IE. I haven't had any problems with it.

Well, before w/ IE I couldn't load the Click N Ship page on USPS.com

Now since downloading FF, I can use Click N Ship again. Plus I don't have the popups nor the Active X crap I kept getting.

Shiira here. For any fellow Mac users, I highly recommend Shiira. Or if you are a Mac user who likes FireFox, try Camino out. Both work flawlessly.

I have used Firefox since the day I heard about it on CP, and love it.

The Tab feature is awesome. More pop-ups are coming about on FF, but still far fewer than IE...

online store, People who order copies of the browser, etc.

and donations I think... My old roomate used Avant and would donate every now and then.

i use firefox all the time. only problem is, that i can't open a second Firefox browser at the same time, so open up IE to browse. Both work well, and Firefox, IMO, has less spyware (i have a toolbar stuck on my IE already i need to loose).

As a PC Support person when I go to a clients home or office I always recommend it for the said reason I am there. My biggest call to date is always pop-ups over-taking their PC.

Has anyone tried Avant? It has the "Tab Feature", I NEVER get pop-ups. As stated in my post above, it has auto-refresh on timed interval or any page that's open. Skins and other cool features. What else can I say except, I've tried FF and IMHO it was just as bad as IE.

Not affiliated in any way with Avant, just like to share a good thing.

I choose Firefox over IE everytime im forced to use a XP machine.

Good thing i have a Mac at home and use Shiira! Another great alternative to Safari or FF.

Click and ship stopped using Java Script about 10 months or so ago..
ever since then you need Adobe Acrobat to use it..
it does not matter which internet browser you use to access it.

I'm a former IE user, a former MyIE2/Maxthon user, a short time Opera user, and today I'm a Firefox

user. Initially I found it a bit lacking in the nifty toys/fancy doo-dad categories, however, after a bit of a searching for the correct extensions, I have to say, in my personal opinion FireFox strikes the best balance between function, customization and security, not to mention value.

One suggestion, if you are new to FireFox, the key to having the browser function like you want is to search out the correct extension(s). The extensions available add many many features. Here is a link to my current Firefox setup.

You know, I dont know if I just manage my computers differently or what, but I have never had any problems with IE, ever. I know there have been security flaws, but I have not had any problems related to them personally. Now I run IE 7 and it has tabs like firefox, and it a lot better and secure then the older versions. ( I think anyway)
I also own a Mac, and use Safari on it, but I like IE for a few reasons.

It resolves correctly all pages I ever go to.. ALL..
I design and develop websites also, and I can always be assured that if it looks good in IE it pretty much looks good on the rest of the browsers out there.

I have used firefox, safari, netscape and a few others, but always go back to IE.

I never see any pop ups, or have any problems with spyware and so on.

Having been in the computer industry starting in the early 80's and all I can think of is that most of these problems are related to surfing habits, or maybe not filtering out spam or clicking on strange emails.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

No I also prefer IE over FF, Opera and the rest but use MyIE2 so I can have the tabs... once IE 7 is released to the normal XP (non 64bit) I plan on switching back.

I detest window! I loathe IE.... I have it loaded on my machine, but, not because I actually use it!
LOVE FF LOVE SAFARI!!!

I use an app named crazy browser that is basically a tabbed interface for IE. WAAAAAAAAAY leaner and meaner in terms of memory usage.

The cool thing about Firefox is the plugins though.

If anybody wants a copy of IE7 pm me. I will set it up on an FTP server
