FIREFOX - THE BEST WEB BROWSER

Yep, I installed it a few months ago when Triple_D had posted a link that was okay for him (since he was smart enough to use Mozilla) but wreaked havoc with my IE.

Rod posted "Oh you must have been using IE :( " and then a few of you told me about Mozilla Firefox which I now use.

One of my computers is infected so badly with viruses, that IE won't even work anymore, so FINE Microsoft, you wanna push a product that is a piece of crap, then we won't use it.

My "Conspiracy Theory" side of me says that Microsoft is in kahoots with these scumbag companies that design the pop-ups because with IE on my computer that runs Windows98, I have NO PROBLEMS but on both of my computers with WindowsXP, all I get is BS.

Problem solved with Mozilla Firefox

I heard a news story on the radio yesterday about te 13% number that Rod quoted. It will only go higher

Screw you Microsoft

Currently using 0.9.3 which I think was a bata version. Had a couple of annoying bugs but downloading latest as I type to see if they fixed them.

One thing I miss was the Control-ALT- short key that created a new window. Problem is the new window is my home page instead of a copy of the last source page.

Unfortunately if you remove IE, you won't be able to use windows.

Ahh...an extension to an open source project...nothing is more pure but inevidably bugged and error prone.

I like Firefox, I would never dload skins/extensions...

Edit: Actually Seizure that is probally a very usefull plugin, too bad it's not compatible with Firefox 1.0 :(

Ok, the FireFox is tempting me but I am somewhat concerned about it disturbing the internet features from Earthlink. Does anyone know if it will have any negative affects? I do not know enough about this stuff and am leary of screwing the computer up.

I've been with 3 ISPs since I installed Firefox, 2 dial-ups and one high-speed (cable). The browser has had no problems with any of them. Change the access and SMTP/POP settings as required and off you go.

Highly recommended, Phillip. Thunderbird, on the other hand, while nice and uncluttered, I still don't like as much as Eudora. Don't even mention Outlook.

like the article said, if IE 7 has tabs bye bye firefox, netscape, etc

I stopped using FF cos it was a pain. CrazyBrowser.

Interesting story. Sounds too sided to me. There will always be die hard Microsoft fans. There were a few false statements in that story, so I don't give the author much credit. Firefox crashses everytime a pdf is opened? Come on, someone doesn't know how to use a computer. :D

Just switched to Firefox and it's already much better then IE.

Try Avant Browser. It has all the bells and whistles that mozilla has. I Love the auto refresh feature, which I don't think mozilla has.

I never liked firefox for some reason... some pages just dont resolve properly..

I currently use IE7 and am happy with it.

I never have had any problems with IE, but my PC is pretty locked down and I run a 64 bit operating system.

IE is total garbage. I use FF but personally I feel anything is better than IE.
