Incredable, I turned my puter' on the yesterday and I thought I had problems on my end. Damn them loosers and I hope the go bankrupt and rot in hell....... ;) :sign: :sneaky:

Sorry to hear about all the trouble. Had to re-register, but no big deal. The affordability of running even a T1 pipe into your house is often quite attractive to people who expect to resell bandwidth, but end up getting in over their heads.

On the positive side, I definately notice that the board is faster today. Good luck with this clown and getting the old data back.

heh, host one is okay, i signed up when it was a buck cheaper and unlim size/bandwidth.

their support team isn't the best, but they're pretty good with people... they kind of forget stuff sometimes, but they make up for it by compensating you somewhat.

it's been what, 2 years now. i'm still up, and they're still up, so it's all good.
 
man, that sucked so bad. i went through withdrawl, messaging people for people's email because i had pending trades.

must have checked the site at least 30 times. i had to pull an allnighter for school, so i was up.

I see you have moved a previous thread about this matter into a moderators only forum already.

What I still can't get around is that you accused the owner of cigarpass.com of facilitating the exchange of "fecal matter" via mail.

That idea is so ridiculous, I can only guess that a) someone from l40.net didn't read very closely when he browsed the forums and b) has the cranial capacity of approximately one medium-sized lentil.

Second of all, seeing as the site is a locus of trading and exchanging of packages of cigars (not poo-poo) valued at well over $100, you can imagine the consternation of the members when the site went AWOL for several hours.

If this were a financial or business website dealing with commodities of this value this interruption would be unacceptable. Thus this site can be seen as being in willful disregard of the interests of members who are guilty of nothing.

TO all prospective customers: I highly siggest you run a who is on this company and try calling the number listed. Talk to a real, live person before you commit your money!

www.L40.net has stolen our data, and I for one will continue to seek our data back. Again, keep in mind that if I didn't have this site backed up on another server, we would have lost 4 yers of information.

It's quite pathetic the phone number L40 list's in their whois domain info, are non-functional.

I have once again emailed them requesting access to the FTP server.

 
Are they holding the data hostage Rod? Is this their idea of retribution for alleged crimes. This is all so ridiculous it is almost laughable. I'm so glad to see censorship is alive and well in the 21st century :( :( :( :angry: :angry: :angry:
 
We can pretty much kiss the last months post's goodbye. If I was able to download the old database and restore it, we would lose the past 2 days post's, so we'll just cut our losses as far as the forum goes. Like I said, it could have been worse.

At this point, I'd like to have access so that I can download the photo gallery and get it up on this server.

We'll see what happens...

Here is the latest communication I have had with L40.net

From CigarPass to L40:


I will be more than happy to tell the members to stop emailing you once you
bring the account back online so that I may backup our site.  Let me know when you have unsuspended our account so I can back everything up, and be done with this whole fiascal.

As far as you stating I asked for the account to be closed, you did nothing
to comply with my request of allowing me to backup my files. The account
still shows it suspended. You clearly stated for me not to reply to the
email, you failed to speak about this matter on the phone. Therefore, you
cancelled our account without consulting me first, simlpy by failing to
communicate with me directly. I received a bill 1 hour before the suspension
of cigarpass.com for this months hosting, therefore, cancellation would NOT
go into affect until the next 30 days.

Chris,

You failed to communicate with me on the telephone, you failed to allow me back into the server. YOU read the emails I sent you, I asked to be let back in, and you told me to put it into the helpdesk. You suspended our account (the members of CigarPass.com) without first speaking with me. You did NOT allow me to investigate your accusations. You know you have several emails from me requesting access into the site. You never gave me the option to investigate this matter. Therefore, you terminated our account.

We could have avoided this whole ordeal if you simply told me you considered 1 photo of a barebreasted woman on the site was "pornographic". You're accusing us of having "pornographic imageS" (yes, plural). If you consider this one image "pornographic", then where are all the others? I would have been more than happy to remove it, but you failed to communicate with me. Not only that, but you accused my site of sending "fecal matter" (aka, feces)  to each other. What kind of accusation is this? We are a well established cigar site on the internet, and have been for the past 4 years.

I will not apologize for your actions. What part of failing to communicate do you not understand? You Chris, are the one who falsely accussed us.

The ball is in your court, and it's your decission. You either let me back in and we will resolve this issue right now and part company, and you will never hear from us again. Until then, I cannot tell any one of the members of CigarPass to back off. It's their choice if they wish to voice their displeasure with you. That is NOT considered SPAM, it's called freedom of speech.

Unbelievable accusations as well. I took the time to read all their companies fine print and quite honestly it just BS what they can do to ANY of their clients and not be held accountable for.

If you've been keeping up with all the post's, you know that L40.net is accusing me of saying that they 'terminated' our account and did not 'temporarily suspended' it.

If you want rock solid proof that they terminated CP's account, just visit L40's forum, and you'll see a response from the administrator to someone named "Angry User", who posted in CP's defense:

Yet, these people want me to "publicly apologize to them on this forum" because I accused them of terminating my account, even though they claim they didn't, but clearly on their forum, THEY SAID THEY DID TERMINATE IT. So I'm suppose to lie to everyone (and publicly apologize) and say they temporarily suspended my account, when the proof is sitting right there on THEIR website stating that THEY TERMINATED CP'S ACCOUNT. This is unbelievable!
