This is truely unbelievable - I have been working in/on the internet since before Al Gore invented it and I have NEVER heard of or seen anything like this!

Sure servers crash here and there, but never should a month of info evaporate!

Live and learn, but I will be speaking to several hosting companies that I work with and see if they have ever heard of such a thing!

I'm with EMO, I don't think they were up to CP's league.

Like I said, they stole 30 days of YOUR information as well as the photo gallery. They won't let me into the site at all to back anything up. So, like I said, feel free to email them at support@L40.net

If a few emails equals a DOS attack they must be very small.
 
didn't someone recently write a letter to Famous Smoke Shop about the recent debacle...i think in that letter he said he was an associate state attorney somewhere? can;t say for sure though
 
Wow, I think we have handled this on a very upscale way based on what I have seen written to this so called hosting company. Have they never received complaints before or do they just threaten to report any one who doesn't agree with their arbitrary and subjective view of a clients content. I don't see them growing much in the very competative arena with this sort of customer service.

Screw em they're not worth the time and effort.

To unsuspend my account, but they won't do it. If you do a whois on the domain name, the number is a fax line.

E-Mailed them my phone number several times, but they're too scared to actually call me.

Of those we host about 750 sites on any given month.
I was sent here by another customer of yours, I happen to be involved in the cigar industry with one of my companies. Some of your policies and business practices have become left me with a question or two.
Why would you decide to review a clients content in detail and then terminate thier access without any warning? Becasue their content doesn't meet with your reviewers personal oppinions or some written AUP.
I understand the policies about content, and the policies that refer to bandwidth consumption - Yet a direct copy of te email you sent was flat out rude, and did not explain clearly. The part of the email that was most disturbing was the "Do not reply to this"

This invasion of a paid hosting says more about you as a company than anything I have seen. You pry into your clients sites (public or member only area) and abuse access to a point that fringes uppon legal violations.
Based opon the actions of one of your employees, that I have witnessed - I now will NOT use your company - I shall now make a full fledged effort to mention you in our company newsletter as a place to avoid at all costs. You never realy can tell when your actions may lead to a lot more business - or in your case a flat out boycott.

So to you I say..
Do not bother replying becasue my mind has been made up by your actions.

Yes Rod, one of the new guys is an attorney. There was a thread someone started "So what does everyone do anyway?" and one of the new guys said he was an attorney but I can't remember who. I remember wise cracking back asking him if he did criminal law sine I get in a lot of trouble (laugh)

Haha, I caught that.

I tossed a couple of sticks in a box for you and sent them along. I thought I had tossed in a Cuban, but it turns out I forgot, so you'll get another package from me sometime next week ;)
