Can't find Opus X?

sippinsoma said:
I didn't get where I am today by counting on other people. I count on myself, and I most especially don't count on people through internet forums.

What's done is done, and the Opus will stay with me. It's no loss to me.

And you won't trade or sell cigars on this or any other cigar board if you don't learn to play by the rules like everyone else.

I have no problems with that.

I tried to tell you  You basically hung yourself bro because of your stubborn ways. Newbies ALWAYS, got that ALWAYS, send their end out first!!! You have to earn the trust of everyone and we DON'T have to trust you because we don't know you!!! YOU need to earn OUR trust, it's not the other way around ;) And if you keep this attitude, you won't survive on many cigar BB's :whistling:

So you're not going to let us know tomorrow how much you'll sell them for?

Hey Sippinsoma - what is a shame is that if you are planning on sticking around this board, you've sort of dug yourself a hole - but certainly not one that you can't get out of :)

You need to understand that trust is one of the most important elements on this board. Trust is something that must be earned. That is why I've been very active trading with others and participating in passes so that these kind gentleman will learn that I'm trustworthy. What you're not really getting is that you came into our home and are, in a way, asking us to trust a stranger when it needs to be the other way around. ;)

Earlier this afternoon I read your post, before anyone responded and this thread got to 3 pages, and my first reaction was that this is sort of bad business. One of the first things new guys need to do before suggesting or offering such transactions as you did, is to get to know us. I thought to myself, this smells a little sour and perhaps even dangerous. Why would a guy come in and on his first day offer to do everyone a favor? Why such a hurry? If there isn't anything in it for you (which with all due respect, I don't really believe), then give it a little time; there shouldn't be any rush.

The last comment that I'll make is that as a new guy, if you have any desire of sticking around, you ought to just suck this up, learn from it, and stop bantering with some of the other guys. What you're sort of showing us is that either you don't have much respect for CP and us and/or you don't really care about being a brother. If you really had intentions of sticking around for a while, I doubt that you would carry on as you are. Therefore, my advice is to just drop it and get to know us. Despite the sh!t your getting (which much of it is well deserved) this will all blow over and be forgiven if you learn to embrace the CP community rather than fight it (just give it some time!) Also, the guys here are great brothers and watch out for one another (which is another reason for the skepticism and reaction you are getting). There is so much generousity on this board that you probably don't understand right now. Therefore, the guys here don't take too kindly to someone (especially brand spanking new) coming in and immediately trying to make deals or selling items without playing by our rules. Remember... this is our house, not yours (and I don't mean to offend you by stating this, but it is the reality). Stick around for awhile, get to know us, and you can share with us what makes the CP community special.

Just my 2 cents and advice for what it's worth - take it or leave it. :)

Great post!!!!!

No, I will not send out cigars in confidence. It's all or nothing.

You know, I've been involved with many trades on other boards but here nobody knows me. I would expect to send my side first and would have no problem with that. 100+ trades elsewhere means squat and thats just how it works. Trust is earned, you don't get a free cup of it when you walk in the door.

Nope. They blew it.

It's higher than MSRP with our tobacco tax 32%(?), but not a whole lot higher than what you list because I still get it wholesale. Are you guys actually able to buy at those prices?

32% Tobacco tax?! Where the hell are you buddy?!

Don't ask me, I'm just a lowly (authorized) dealer. This is what my rep tells me.

You won't be for long if Fuente knew you were scanning Cigar BB's to see how well you could price the opus without being too high. Also I've seen Fuente stop sending dealers opus, because they were gouging. You have a Newman Account right? Where are you located?

I'm no business whiz or anything but I think you missed something while you were talking about counting on yourself there...your customers have to be able to count on you to, and if you renig on a deal like this so quickly because of something said on a BB, I think you need to consider what kind of image your portraying to potential customers. If you intend to make it in the cigar business THESE are the type of people your going to be dealing with. There are some great people on here and in my opinion it would be wise to make some friends and remember the customer is always right...or in this case maybe future customers.

It's been said many times, if you dont want to trust the people on the board, theyre not going to trust you.

It may just be me but reading this thread it seems you never had any intention of sharing your opus let alone the prices and used the cold shoulder you got as an excuse to take it back and let us miss out on this once in a lifetime deal.

Thats just how it sounded while reading it..I'm not saying thats how it is.

I won't bother with you. You are quite the epitome of stupidity.

Scanning here for pricing?

I sincerely apologize to those of the unintelligent and paltry disposition who somehow decode this "toddler-babble" into coherent lingo.

Can you please put a picture in your profile? I may be able to "trust" you better that way... :D

I'm now guessing he's in Arkansas. Hey, better than the 46.76% tax I pay in Cali.
