So Fuente will sell you the cigars in the nice presentation boxes, which as you point out are really quite nice, or in cheaper boxes as well? Is there any difference in how much they charge for the smokes in the presentation boxes vs. not?
I learn something new every day.

Well, sometimes they specifically can't send them in the boxes so we don't even have the option. If we do have the option, we surely get them. Otherwise they come cedar filler boxes that are not for display.
I don't believe that we pay any more for the boxes, but I would have to look (I rarely do ordering -- woohoo!).
I'll take some photos of the filler boxes when I get a chance, in case you're interested.

No, I will not send out cigars in confidence. It's all or nothing. If people want to take the chance with an honest person, do so at your benefit. If not, I will not waste time debating my credibility to people I don't know. I won't even sell them at wholesale because I have taxes and other things to cover.
Like I said, let's not start flaming people for no reason. Take it or leave it, but leave it without whinning about it.

I'll LEAVE IT and recommend everyone do the same. Seen plenty of "honest" people come and rip people off here. In fact, you are the first newbie I have seen that has such a problem with sending out his end first. It's the same way on EVERY cigar board on the internet. I suggest you "take it or leave it". If you actually want to be a contributing member here you are starting off on the wrong foot.
You obviously don't get it and by your attitude never will.
BTW, there is one "n" in whining.

One who resorts to flaming about typos clearly has little to pick at in the first place.

You are new here. "Newbies" send there end out first to established members - that's the way it's always been and won't change. You don't trust us? A new person coming here on DAY 1, saying he can get Opus X at wholesale, wanting to gauge what people will pay, and then saying he won't send first sends up RED FLAGS all over the place. I don't care if you own WalMart - you will be viewed with some scepticism.
sippinsoma said:The boxes are pretty elegant and very well made. The predicament lies in that Chateau de Fuente is extremely honed, as compared to other cigar manufactureres. For example, instead of each roller making 175-200 cigars a day, they roll only 50-75 cigars. The cigars are a blend of 5 fillers and two wrappers (or 2 binders, whichever) and are not easy to roll, so the workers they do have must be very skilled (and they are very well paid). In addition, Chateau de Fuente has 18-20 rollers at any given time, not (sometimes) 100s like other makers. The same idea goes for the boxes. Fewer people, better materials, better quality.

If they make fewer cigars, shouldn't it follow that it would be fairly easy to keep up with the box production? I've been there... they crank out the Opus boxes pretty easily enough.

Explain to all of us how I flamed you. I told you how things work here and you got an attitude about it.
Here was my post:

THAT....is not flaming.

Bottom Line: You went about this the wrong way (your offer to sell Opus), were told how things work around here, and decided you don't want to play by the "rules" of this and every other cigar board (i.e. New members sending their end of trades and sales FIRST to established members).
We've all had to do it and newbies still do it EVERY DAY. Look around, you don't see them complaining about it because they understand HOW and WHY it is done this way.
