Cuba does export tobacco and they did at the time these quotes were recorded, which was around '98-'99, if I recall right. The Dutch have been importing Cuban leaf for their dry-cured cigars for years. There are a few others who did the same, for similar types of cigars. Villager cigarillos had Cuban leaf in them at one time. Penamil's and also ST Dupont cigars were manufactured with a Cuban blend.
Yep, Hajenius still makes a house cigar that uses (in part) Cuban tobacco
Those house brand cigars at P.G.C. Hajenius in Amsterdam (a blend of various countries including Cuba) happen to be quite good. They've sold those for many, many years.
