For once, knowledge is making me poor!
....he's right. Smoking a full size cigar represents an investment in time, and the last thing I want when I decide to make that investment is to be disappointed by a cigar that just doesn't get it done.Cheap cigars aren't worth it.
As mentioned, Padron 2000's can be had for under three bucks a stick if you wait for the sales, and that's as "cheap" as I go anymore.
FWIW - YMMV - etc.....B.B.S.
On one hand I couldn't agree more, the ritual that is created by smoking a great cigar with good company or by yourself with the beverage of choice is second to none.
On the other hand, there are many times when I want to smoke a cigar and simply can't indulge in the entire ritual i.e. golfing, standing around a campfire with the guys, limited amount of time, etc. and having a nice selection of $2 - $3 sticks is a must!
Plus, if he can't afford $10 sticks, he just can't afford them. And I would rather have a nice $2 stick than none at all.
