Great weekend of knockout games with no upsets to speak of. Crazy game yesterday as Portgual and Holland had a dirty match with 16 players booked and 4 guys kicked out of the game. I'm a bit nervous as Italy plays their first knockout game today vs. Australia. Game starts at 11am.

What a poor display yesterday of FUTBOL.

What started out as an excellent game n\between Portugual and Holllan quickly turned into a disgrace.

Poor officiating and total disrespect for the game by some of the players.

Hopefully the officiating gets back on track and the games continue to be fun to watch.

Also how about that goal by the Argentinian striker! One of the best GOAL's I have seen!

I was on the edge of my seat the whole game especially when Italy went down a man. That was a really harsh red card that put the Italians under the gun the entire 2nd half. They turned it up with only a few minutes to go and started creating chances and the Australian defender paniced. It was a good call.

After a 2 day hiatus, the tournament continues today with the quarter-finals! Argentina vs. Germany in game 1 and they my beloved Azzurri going up against the Ukraine in game 2. Semi-final births are at stake.

I trust all my italian friends on the board will be cheering on the Azzurri today as we (hopefully) march into the semi-finals!
