What Whiskey, Rum or Cognac are you drinking today.

I guess it's time that I try an old-fashioned!
Never had an old fashioned? That my fav cigar cocktail. Has the sweetness I need to help with the nicotine. Take a decent bourbon or rye (I like to use Makers 46 but the best I made used Weller Special Reserve but it’s hard to find) couple dashes of biters (I like extra) Luxardo cherry (I put a little of the juice in there) orange peel and some double simple syrup or sometimes I like to mix it up and use some pure maple syrup. Stir it up with ice and you are good to go

I love a good Old Fashioned

Nothing better than a good old fashion. Nothing worse than a bad one
Serious I don’t even order them at places unless I know for sure they have luxardos. That’s how you know it will be a good one. I don’t order Mai Tais either. I got into tiki drinks and found out how they are suppose to taste and now they are all ruined watery cheap garbage unless it’s at a legit tiki bar like Trader Sams or Three Dots and a Dash

Made an old fashioned after we talked about it on the V-Herf. Notice the orange twist I use instead of the slice of peel that’s common. Makes a twist around the orange. Also the luxardo cherries make a huge difference also the double simple syrup I make myself I just get one of those oil bottles to dispense it1B0E67B6-023E-44EB-8186-A6AFB3E4A495.jpeg

I have a bottle of Hennessy white that someone gifted me - supposedly only sold overseas which makes sense as it said .7L vs .75L. Anyways I did not like it straight but it made a great old fashioned - if you can call it that since it was cognac vs bourbon Cheers 🥃

It seems Nathan @Acclaym has every hard to find bottle of bourbon out there. So I would like to know what is one bottle from your collection that you are really happy to have and why that particular one
That is a stock Google seagrass photo. I don't have any special bottles. I drink to get somewhere and it's better if it tastes good.

Apple pie moonshine with a splash of peanut butter whiskey.

Thanks @JoeGibs

Now, if someone would just make a cheddar cheese whiskey!

There is nothing better than apple pie with a slice of cheddar cheese!

interesting choice of mixers. Never heard of anyone cutting it with flavored whiskey's, but it doesn't sound horrible. typically we just chill and shoot it. hope it helped wash down that gurk turd.
