What beer did you drink today?

Had a Yuengling Black and Tan. Was great! Gonna have to get a hold of some more. Also had their Porter and Lager. Great stuff.
 
Flying Dog Old Scratch. Their Amber Lager and I enjoyed it. While it didn't blow my mind, it certainly had a nice, malty flavor and was easy to drink.
 
DFH Chicory Stout. Good, but not great. I'd buy it again for a change of pace.

How would you rank them? I understand that styles are different but just overall complexity, taste, and enjoyability.
 
Stopped by Ladyface earlier today:

"Hot for Mama", which is their Belgian amber on cask with smoked chipotles. Very nice. That beer is very brown ale-esque but with the smoked peppers it gave the beer a blunt bitter, vegetable, pepper finish which was interesting.
TAPS barley wine - Nice and strong with good hop character but a scotch ale-esque malt backbone.
Their Picture City Porter - solid. Has a great start, uneventful middle, but nice finish.
Their Chesebro IPA - solid but a tad mild than I was expecting. Of course I had this after the barley wine, so that may have had something to do with it.

Right now I'm working on a bottle of KRBC Class V stout, a favorite of mine.

Not exactly today... but I went to the Founder's Black Party back on 4/16. Used that weekend as a getaway to GR to hit up the Hopcat, Grayson's Crossing and Founders.

The Hopcat was selling 2008 Kentucky Breakfast Stout bottled... which I bought the remaining 3. They also had 2009 KBS bottled, so ended up with 9 of those. Yah, seriously.. who would have thought. When I saw it on the bottle list, I ordered. Waitress came back stating she had to call the manager since the box it was in had "Do not open" written across it. Next thing I know, she's coming out with a 4pack, 3 of which had the old "Kentucky Breakfast Stout" labels, the 4th was an 09 KBS label. I was with 3 other friends, though... otherwise they would have been all mine. Ended up walking out with an unopened 09 4 pack, on top of the others we enjoyed.

Grayson's Crossing had Oak Aged Espresso Yeti on tap, it was damn good.

Founder's had 11 KBS on tap. It was great, but the bottle of 08 from the night before was just amazing. Black Biscuit was damn good, Bourbon Del Noche and Maple Del Noche were both outstanding, as well. They were suppose to put on a few special taps throughout the day, but I apparently missed them.
 
Poured an Old Speckled Hen that was part of a birthday sampler courtesy of the wifey. I'm liking it!

Sounds like I need to bust out some of my older KBS. It's been far too long since I've had that beer.
 
I had a 2010 KBS a few weeks ago...it was pretty good but I still enjoy BCS more.

Last night I had a Full Sail Black Gold Imperial Stout while watching the Mavs beat down the Blazers. Barrel aged vanilla goodness...
 
I had a bomber of New Belgium Lips of Faith - Le Fleur Misseur on Sunday for Easter. It was extremely average. I have a bottle Biere de Mars too....hope its more complete than this was.

I also had a bottle of Stillwater Autumnal American Farmhouse Ale. Very good. Much more malt with just a touch of funk than the typical lighter bodies Saisons.
 
Friday:
Port Santa's Little Helper '10 imp stout: I had this in the fridge for a few months and was looking forward to this. When I poured it out there was a couple clumps that came out. Assuming it was yeast that had settled at the bottom I began drinking. Very boozy with a brandy like character. Unfortunately the booziness was overshadowing the rest of the beer. Faint chocolate and strong bitter coffee. Then I came upon some sort of jelly-like substance that seemed like fruit that had not been filtered out during bottling. It wasn't moving, so that's good, but it had me unsure. Overall I was a bit let down by the beer. I look forward to comparing it to the bottle I just bought off Mike.

Saturday:
Alaskan Smoked Porter '07: part of the beer PIF I just received. Seems like age has mellowed the beer out and it is incredibly smooth! Smoke is obvious but not overpowering. Excellent post-huge steak dinner selection and I only wish I drank it with the steak dinner and not afterwards.

Now:
Saint Arnold Divine Reserve No. 7: another beer PIF bottle (thanks Justin!) I'm assuming this is a dubbel because it reminds me of the St Bernardus Abt 12 I had recently. Per my notes: Winey fruit beginning, booze spice middle, and malty chocolate mocha finish. Excellent! Loving this one!

They're releasing this as a fall/winter seasonal now. It's called the Pumkinator or something like that.
