I will still be reluctant to post specials on certain brands because of manufacturer complaints. Long before this character came along I have gotten complaints within minutes of posting a special price. This isn't the only cigar snitch ???

THANK YOU ROD! Cigar communities are supposed to be jsut that - communities, they aren't supposed to be for personal gain, rather they are for sharing the passion, knowledge and love. Clearly this guy was just trying to take our money and could give two shits about being a BOTL. Great job Rod. To all the vendors that have gotten "in trouble" I sincerely respect what you guys stand for.

Good work Rod. I hate snitches  Maybe now we can recover the spirit that is CP.

Damn, that's not good...
More rats in the kitchen.

Rod

I'm a newbie here. You know that.
But I appreciate the true sense of "community" on this forum.
I feel "protected" on this site, members watching out for one another.

My hats all to the admin on this forum...and all the members on this site that make this place enjoyable.

It is a real shame that he had to use such shitty tactics to promote his operation as that was a very nice website with awesome product and good prices.

Thankfully I hadn't ordered anything from NewHavana, and in fact I just deleted my bookmark to the site.

Thanks Rod for having our backs!

When I saw that he started posting over here ( I didn't lead him here thank God) I just threw in my 2 cents about how well he took care of the guys on the other board...I had no idea that he would eventually turn out to be a POS.

There are a lot of great guys out there that happen to be tobacconists (Al, Brad, Ian,Mark, Eric, Mike) and I am really sorry (I didn't do it, but damned if Dan is gonna say it!) that Dan turned out to be a snitch.

I understand this goofball has a B&M in Columbus as well. I might have to stop in just to NOT buy anything when I am up there. BTW, don't let this give all of us named "Dan" a bad name......might just have to start going by my Native American name, "Hunglikehorse"

Unfortunately, this was my first guess when it came up, and I held off on placing an order until it came out. It really is a shame. The site was one of the better new cigar shops to come along in quite a while. I would assume that this publicity will spread from one board to the next and soon there will be no New Havana. He sells what might as well be botique brands, with almost cult like followings, a pretty small world to be shooting dirty pool.

Thanks for outing the guy Rod.

Everyone reading should post here in this thread. So that any manufacturer or vendor reading this, knows just exactly how much influence this board really has. The almighty dollar is what keeps them in buisness, and we spread plenty of that around.

And therein lies the problem. In the past, one need not be a registered member to see the Retailer Specials. Even if the forum is locked down, all they would need to do is register an account and never post. Then they'd be able to see everything that goes on.

I think there will necessarily need to be a fundamental change in tactics by our retailers. To this point, they've been doing all the work by posting great deals. All we had to do was bite. If their public actions are going to be subject to scrutiny, they I don't know how we can go on doing business in the old ways.
