Today's Smoke 2016

Actually Futuro is from Warped and isn't Four kicks from Crowned Heads.

Walkdown cigar for today is a CAO Amazon Basin.
I so knew that. /forehead slap.

It still reminded me of Four Kicks.

QUOTE="Succubus, post: 1206824, member: 17756"]About to try an Illusione Ultra OP #4. I have a feeling that having dinner beforehand was a good idea :p

View attachment 12172[/QUOTE]I hope you find it interesting. Google " mk ultra" and find out where it got its name. ;)

T52 DC....as I pare down the NC's that are repeat purchases, the T52's and Herrerra Esteli's are definitely the top of the list for Drew Estate stuff. Forgot what smoke bombs these things are....

I always tell folks not to smoke them in a vehicle because they won't be able to see out the window

Secret Santa johnnie O, it tasted good but fell apart on the last third. Looking at the posts, might've needed to sit for a while longer.

AF best seller that had been sitting for a couple of years. Darn good cigar

Three cigar night is rare for me! Viaje zombie super shot to finish off the night. Darn good!

Warped Lirio Rojo....love these, second only to the Don Reynaldo. Reminds me of an Epernay...I'm guessing they share some of the same tobacco. A little cheaper and I wouldn't just ration 5-packs.

From what I've read, the Illusione Epernay is comprised of Criollio, Corojo and wrapped with a Rosado, all Nicaraguan. The Lirio I understand to be 100% Aganorsa Nicaraguan leaf. It wouldn't shock me if perhaps the leaf sections (Volado, Seco, Ligero) is similar, although the Epernay claims to use 0 Ligero. The Epernay seems to be in the 35-40 range per 5er and the Lirio seems to be 40-45 per 5er. I'm now very intrigued to try the one you sent my way.

It definitely has that "floral" aspect throughout, but the bass notes are different...maybe not as complex, there's something on that richer end of the spectrum I can't pin down. They have that "stop analyzing and just enjoy it" impact on me.

Edited to add: Cheapest I've found them is $45 for a fiver with the 10 percent Smallbatch discount. They come in cabs of 50, so if you manage to find a vendor who sells them whole, at $450 I'd go with a cab of CC's if I'm dropping that much at once.

Agreed. 450 for a cab of nc's,no matter how great, is a bit high. Just one reason I have a hard time justifying any NC priced at $9-$12 plus for a single or 5er when a CC can be had at that price. Now when jumping into the realm of $15-$18 or $20-$30 per stick, I'm usually not one to bite. You've got to have had exceptional feedback from the B/SOTL community for me to warrant biting the bullet on that price range. This is Rare Padron, Rare Fuente and CC EL/RE territory.
