The Last Herfer Standing Pass.....

Sorry to hear that bresdog, I guess he had to stop somewhere :(

Regarding the etching; Jeffro, that's what I thought you meant but I just couldn't believe they actually could do it to the wrapper. Although that is pretty cool how they can do that, I doubt I'd ever want it done. I'm more of a purist when it comes to cigars :)

Should the next "lucky" recipient hold off on shipping due to the Thanksgiving Holiday???

Many people, including myself, will be out of town. Package could sit with the postal carrier or on the front porch.

I wasn't planning on shipping until Wednesday. I can hold off until Saturday or Monday. Humipak is ok :D etc. Melski, let me know.

Some great looking cigars :D in that bag. Next in line here it comes :0 . The pigeon will be flying soon. Have a great Thanksgiving  .

Well, my part of the cooking is done. Momma melski is making the turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes. I made Harvard beets, honeyed turnips, corn pudding, Thanksgiving medley (brussels sprouts, baby carrots and pearl onions with a maple syrup/ Dijon mustard glaze), broccoli w/cheese sauce, roasted fennel and sausage/cornbread stuffing w/craisins and pecans. Add some canned cranberry sauce and biscuits. My daughter made a pumpkin pie and I'm sure that momma (in spite of my warning not to) made some kind of cake. What a feast.

With all the food and the hubbub over starting your Christmas shopping (pfui!) let us not forget the reason for the day. Take time to give thanks for all that you have received. For me, this year's holiday season will be particularly bittersweet as they are the first since the passing of mrs. melski in May. Oh, how I do miss her.

While we are feasting and beginning our preparations for Christmas, our little pigeon continues to work his ass off, winging his way to the next unlucky herfer. California and Pennsylvania have gone unscathed, so far. Will the pigeon stop there next?

HE HE HE....i know wheres its goin...but my lips are sealed! ;)

We just finished up with dinner/early lunch and im STUFFED!! Just sat down with the CAO Italia i got from the pass and am gettin ready to put flame to it...should be a great smoke! Hope you guys are having a great Turkey day!

I can hear our little rock dove singing

<to the tune of Jingle Bells>

Boy I'm getting tired,
Been dodging birds of prey,
Through the clouds I go,
Singing all the way!

Methinks somebody else will be singing tomorrow
Singing the Blues!

Rat Bastads! The pigeon just slammed its wounded little self right into my door today. :(

Oh well, there are some nice smokes in there and I look forward to figuring out my P & T's. I'll make sure to turn this thing around on Monday (since the post office is closed today). Sooooo.... someone else should be quite worried right now!

:0 Well it is time to put up the radar and reinstate the no fly zone for our bird of prey the pigeon :p . the weather has warmed a bit and that means he'll be on the prowl :(

I just opened an envelope and the lucky winner is...

:whistling:

Just a few days and someone will be the happy recipient of a wounded bird!

Actually, I'm just pulling out the box right now to take a lookie. I'll post something either later tonight or tomorrow.

Okay, I've had a chance to go through the box and consulted with Mel. Here are my P & T's:

T: #29
P: Perdomo Reserve Maduro (7x54)

T: #48
P: 2pk of Cupido Campana

T: #40
P: Don Tomas Special Edition Corojo 660

T: #43
P: CAO Cx2 Belicoso

The bird is coming someone's way first thing Monday morning... so be prepared! Word has it that he didn't like Illinois too much (can't blame him) so he's going to check out some new scenery - but that's all I know :whistling:

Brother Jeffro was feeling a bit dyslexic when he sent the lid on to orangeman and it made like a boomerang. So.....the next lucky(?) herfer will have to wait for 2 packages.

a couple of random thoughts at the halfway point:

I am somewhat surprised, no make that very surprised, that the El Original is still available. I thought that would be one of the first sticks to go. Not knowing how long any of you have been enjoying this pastime, I am curious as to how many of you have ever heard of the El Originals.

If my memory serves me right, there are two people who have only made one post to this thread, that to sign up. At the risk of turning this thread moribund, I'm wondering if they are in stealth mode, trying to stay under the radar so our little pigeon will ignore them. :whistling:

Mel,

I actually came very close to pulling the trigger on the El Original, but the few reviews on Top 25 that I read made it sound like a strong, full bodied cigar. Since I tend to prefer med. bodied smokes, I decided on something else. Are those reviews accurate, in terms of it's strength?

I have never heard of, nor have I tried, an El Original! And I really appreciate you folks leaving them for me, the last herfer. :p
