The 'I'm home and need some fun' Pass

Oh I hear ya FT, it did the same here, 2 weeks ago it was still in the mid 60's, then one night it went down to 40, then BAM! Coldness. I think we're gonna have a wicked winter this time around.

ya, that'd be Joisy, but now that all the garbage is floating around, I think it's starting to maen NY too :p

Yea boys, I DON'T feel your pain. 73f and sunny in old AZ.

:D :D :sign: :sign: :sign: :sign: :sign: :D :D :p :p :p :p

nice here in South Texas @65 deg

70s in the daytime, 58-60 at night, here in Santa Cruz mountains :)

0955 in the lovely western Va. mountains and a gentle rain is falling with the mercury holding steady at 37 degrees. Nice day to stay inside.

Ok, the box arrived, but Tone has my pass at his place, so I'm waiting to see what he takes/puts before I make up my mind :p

Just kidding.

So far, I'm considering...

La Luna
AVO Domine
Macanudo Maduro
Fonseca Serie F
Belmondo Vint Res
La Perla Habana (ISOM)

I just have to look them up and make sure I can afford the puts to cover it :D Actually, I'll have to go check my put-idor and see if I can afford to take the partagas black, too. DAMN, that's a fine cigar -- got my 1st from Tone's previous pass, and it's my current favourite.

If I don't have any great sticks handy, is it ok if I just fill one of these zip-lock bags with cash, Tone?

Ok, I'll let you know what comes down and the DC when it goes out which I HOPE will be tomorrow (Tue), but Wed at the latest.

Ambient RH is 69-70% constant, so I'll just leave the lids off and let them breathe...

Hey Misc, take what you want, and put what you want in there, it's cool with me, as long as there's no plastic tipped jammies like I found in your box

:sign:

Hey, I can't find a source for the 8" La Luna Maduro Fuente -- can anyone give me an approximate price? A reviewer led me to believe they'd be in the $3.50-4 range -- about right?

Also, "La Perla Habana" is another of those newbie-tricking cigars. "Habana", but not ISOM -- BASTARDS! That's ok, at $7.50+, I may's well replace with an ISOM, anyway :p

Still working out my puts. The dog ate one of them, but I think I can get him to choke it out...

Good luck on finding that La Luna ??? I put that in the box, couldn't find anything on it myself. I bought a mixed box of La Luna's from a gentleman over at CW, those were in there. Nice smoke, enjoy. ;)

<shaking head in dismay>.....you're just never gonna get it are you? :p  :D

:sign:

Ya know, I think that's my fault. I think I told Misc that if it said Habana on it, that it was ISOM... :p

My bad.

Actually if it says, "Habanero", it means spicy hot ISOM

:p

LOL!! I've told him that more than once so I'll share the blame, but no ISOM's name has "Habana" in it. Habana is where it comes from, not what it's called.

Yeah, yeah... hey, it's not my fault if I'm ugly AND stupid! ;)

Ok, anyway -- well, sorting through my sticks, I found that I'm running a tad low at the mid-high end (<sigh> note to newbies: good cheap cigars are cool, but don't over do it. Buy some good ones, too, for trading!) Anyway, after Tone went and bragged up what a great passer I was, I'm going to short-shift his pass just a bit. Not too bad, and I hope to make up in quantity what I lack in "value" (goofy term, but whatever.) If someone feels jilted, let me know, I'll make it right, somehow.

Takes:
La Luna something or other
AVO Domaine
Macanudo Maduro (Hyde Park?)
Fonseca Serie F
Belmondo Vintage Reserve
La Perla Habana
Partagas Black Label 1845

Puts:
Don Diego Playboy (HMH monogrammed) Robusto
Pleiades (gran churchill?) (from original recipe, they don't make these any more)
Butera Royal Vintage fingerling (my last Butera! The original, and still the best, "buttery" cigar)
JR Ultimate Cabinet #50
Duque wavell (a great little mild cigar)
Punch After Dinner
Vegas de Santiago Robusto (cuz I'm sure none of you have ever heard of them :D)
Bobalu Cupido (house-roll from Galviston, TX -- quite tastey)
Genuine Pre-Embargo Counterfeit Cuban
Mantequilla Tapa Negra -- just cuz they're pretty to look at. Not a bad mild cigar, either!
2x Consuegra #72-maduro (#723) -- I don't care if they ARE under a buck, they're great little cigars, dammit!
2x Flor de los Reyes -- another great $1 cigar. Btw, FdlR went out of business 3+ yrs ago, and CI has their last remaining stock. These things are DRIPPING with oil, and gorgeous smokes. Someone bought the company, and the next round of FdlRs won't be the same. Grab 'em while you can! (Pretty box, too!)

Hope that works for everyone. Like I said, if you think I over-chintzed, say something, and I'll... I don't know, I'll do something!

...I guess I better order a box or two of good cigars for these upcoming passes, eh? :p

Oops. Add to those puts a Cohiba something or other (churchill sized) (ISOM)

(Came out this morning, and there's this cuban cigar sitting on my kitchen table -- '"what the hell is THAT doing not in the box?!", I thought...)

Ok, I'm taping this baby up and sending it back to Colorado Springs...

And they round the far corner headed down the front stretch

Ok this time we put back what we took the first time and take back our puts right?

Thanks Misc, you sure didn't have to put all them in there, but I'm sure I'll find use for them :D

LOL Wascal, yeah I guess you do have to take what you put and put what you took before :p

Half way.

Oh yeah, let's not to forget to skip JT on this trip back, no need to make PB go on a second rescue mission :p

OK, so on the way back, we are not at defcon 4. That's good to hear. That box is going to be bustin it's seems when it gets back to you Tone. Looking forward to the rebound. There is so much stuff in there I have never tried.

From my takes, I'd have to say that the La Pearla was the best so far. The old black pearl...not bad. Any recommendations for something nut-busting strong in the box boys. Wisper though, I don't want FT to hear and rip it out from under me. :p :p :p
