The CP Make-a-Wish PIF Thread

No. When you are new to a community people may be hesitant to trust you with a transaction that exposes them to potential serious problems. It isn't a pile on the noob thing and as far as I know noobs are allowed to play in this thread. I know Ron said in his intro he has history on ICC, and many solid members of this board frequent that one as well. However, if you just looked at this thread you would see a guy with 2 months and 11 posts asking for contraband. Can you really blame people for being cautious?

PM sent to Jim to get his wish to him.

As for me, it's with a bit of a feeling of foreboding that I post my wish.

There's a very well respected gentleman on these boards whom I've had the pleasure of smoking with a couple of times. His didactic posts have informed and enlightened us all, and more often than not, made many of us smile.

99.9% of the time, I trust his palette and his recommendations without question.

There's a cigar he claims to enjoy once in awhile that I haven't yet tried. I just can't get my head wrapped around the attraction, but it's time I gave it a shot.

I would, um, really appreciate it ??? if someone had a spare CAO Moontrance Torpedo to send me.

Seriously. My hand to God. I mean it.

If I don't think it will embarrass my friend who likes them, I'll even do a review.

Thanks for your response. I was under the impression that the 3 month rule applied and therefore had not bothered with this PIF Wishlist.

Thanks for clearing that up.

I still probably won't participate as I don't have enough experience to have any wishes yet.

Oh

my

god.

Don't do it, Tim. The only reason I get away with it is because of my heathen, billygoat palate.

You sir, are meant for finer things.

Wilkey

K. I'll increase my wish list by 100% then.

The only other thing I haven't smoked yet that I would like to try is a Dunhill Estupendo. Is that fine enough for ya?

Moontrance Torp or Estupendo. One's just as good as the other to me.

If it's the former, I'll just pre-treat my tongue and sinuses some of the minerally corrosion stuff that's growing on my car battery terminals.

Someone must have a spare Moontrance out there...

Edited to add:

If someone doesn't want to admit to owning one, you could just say that you'll pick one up at a local B&M for me. :whistling:

Tim if I had the estupdendo I would send it to you to save you from the moontrance.

I remembered coming across this in Forbes a while back....

How to Make A $1,000 Cigar

Salvatore Parisi is a cigar fanatic. His collection, valued at $2.5 million, boasts 60,000 Cubans, including a 25-year-old Dunhill Estupendo, said to be worth $1,200. Also earning coveted space in his humidor are 15 Cohiba Behikes, which run about $750 each.

Let's give Salvatore a call and see if he'll grant tigger's wish!

I would like-

Punch Punch with some age
Monte #2 with some age
Or send me your all time fav

Thanks again Bob the generosity is humbling!!

Jim
Ok, I'll play - sounds like the Monte #2 is a done deal. I know I have a box of Punch Punch @ home but am not sure of the year. I'm pretty sure they have a year or more on them, so I'll send a couple of those along. I also have some "all time faves" so I'll send a few of those along as well....

Jim - shoot me your address in a PM.

Cheers, guys - B.B.S.

Edited - OK guys, it was pointed out that Tigger already had part of Jim's wish and my addition was hosing up the cha cha. As such, I'm withdrawing my offer and slinking quietly back to my corner, hoping no one notices. I'll wait my turn and actually read the first page next time.....

Carry on - B.B.S.

You know, as much as I love cigars, there is NO CIGAR that is worth that much money. It's only dried tobacco leaves for crying out loud. Even if it's the only cigar of its kind in existence, it's still not worth that much and there is no way that it can be that much better than a good $10 or even $50 cigar.

Tim,

If no one picks you up on either, I will send you a Moonie Torp and something you've not smoked before. I haven't got an Estupendos but I've got one or two things I'm sure you haven't tried yet. ;)

Wilkey

Most kind of you Wilkey. Let's see how it plays out.

Just to be clear, I'm not really looking for an Estupendo here. Just using the notion as leverage to get myself a flavored cigar.

If this stays open tomorrow, I'll have to call up my local :whistling:

Then I might have to try one for myself! :sign:

Well, this is a Make-a-Wish forum...but if this one was granted, it would read more like a Fairy Tale!

Plus it made for a great post tigger...because everyone in the cigar world needs to do THIS

Okay, that was funny!

I've got a a small size Moontrance I was saving for my wife, but I think I might have to fire it up just to say I did it.

No Greg, you really don't have to... :sign: :whistling:

I've got Tim on another vitola until such a time as I can find him a torpedo

I'll send along something to refresh your palette after you commit the boorish act. :sign:

I'll update with my wish in a few.

I wish to pass my wish to Grapes! (Napa_Smokes)

Step up, Josh. Let's see your list.
