I got your RC 184 bro and I will be back momentarily with my wish!

Edited to add my wish:

I'd love to try a DCM Stanford's 90th......if that is not appropriate then any HTF Fuente that fits the bill is good with me

And now........back to our regularly scheduled program :D

DC# 0103 8555 7493 8196 4837 Going out to Rebel Herfer

I have a focking headache. My wish is for some 600mg Ibuprofen.

Why not just put up more than a few wishes (5 or so) and in a broad range from a $5 smoke to a $25 one? I'm sure there are alot of smokes to list that people have not tried....or is it just me. ??? :D

I can get you some vicoprofen. Let me know if this will work and I can get it packaged and ready to go with a DC #.

That is actually a great idea. If someone wants to grant one of the rare or pricey sticks, so-be-it and if not it shouldn't be too hard to keep things moving with one of the more reasonable choices.

The only issue I have is that if you list four cigars for a wish, and they vary from $20 - $5. Guess which one will get granted in about 10 minutes.

I do think it's a good idea to list about 3-5 cigars, but I don't think they should have to include a budget cigar in there anywhere. I say let folks wish for what they really "wish" for....give it 24hrs and then they should reconsider something less rare.

The only problem I foresee with this is that someone will immediately grant the $5 smoke wish and then the wisher may look greedy by waiting. I think Wilkey's original rule of putting up a couple wishes and give it 24 hours is perfect. After 24 hours if it isn't granted make some modification to the wish list.

I think this will also settle the thread down and stop the bumping a couple hours after a wish is made. I see this being a tradition that will last for many years and not a race....JMHO

Well put, Jeff and Wyatt. I think a lot of what you guys are saying makes sense.

Wilkey

This is a wishlist/PIF I don't see a problem with making a wish for a HTF no matter what you have granted to get the wish although when posting a HTF I think you should also post a not so HTF along with it and be respectable to the members here and not hold out for the HTF and hold up this PIF. It has been my experience that cigar lovers are giving people I always like to pass on some of my favorite smokes and the people on this forum are very generous also so I don't think it's bad to wish for something just don't hold up the thread. Just my opinion.

Surprisingly, the wishes whished and the likeliness of them being filled is not about you or anyone other than the wisher.

I don't feel that there is a way or a reason to make this opportunity to grant or make a wish available to everyone. If all that happens is that easily available sticks in one city get moved to someone in a different city, what's the point, now a $6 cigar has had another $4.60 added to its cost. If the cigars aren't somewhat hard to find, chances are that many of us have them, or don't want them each to our own taste. I'm fine with everybody being eligible for this opportunity, but nobody should be guaranteed a spot.

This was supposed to be about granting wishes and making wishes. Lately, it looks more like speed dating for cigars.

That is true, $5 is far too low but the general idea could work if things start getting backed up or messy with the 24 hour rule. I guess we should just stop policing everyone's wish, if it is off base it will just go un-granted forcing them to ask for something more reasonable.

I agree. After some thought it would make it go too quick. But a few more on the wishlist (regardless of price) would help abit IMO. Thanks for the feedback gents.

If you list a $5 and a $10 stick, which of these would the wisher rather have? What say if someone is watching and has the $5 stick and grants it within 5 minutes, however another person comes along just 10 minutes later (or 23 hrs and 59 seconds later) and says, "ah man...I coulda granted that $10 stick". Then the wisher has missed out on the cigar they really wanted.

My line of thought would be to post the stick/s you really would like to have (the $10 stick/s). Give it some time and if not granted, change it up (add the $5 stick/s).

JMHO

Greg

Edited to add....ahhh looks like this is basically a repeat post. Sorry 'bout that!

I have a question.... Would it be unreasonable to believe we could have more than one wish on the table at one time without causing chaos?

I mean if you look at the newbie sampler thread, why is it that so many transactions(up to 10 or more at any given time) are able to be handled simultaneously with little or no confusion?.... And on this thread it's tough just to follow one wish at a time? What's the difference? Besides the sheriff doing such a great job of keeping things organized over there, there's very little going on besides a request for a trade, a response, a confirmation of shipment and receipt and gratitude. That's it! If we had the same thing going on in this thread, with someone to keep it organized and updated in a list, we could potentially have the same number of wishes being granted as trades going on over there minus the chaos. I could be way off base here but it's just a thought.

Also.... As far as dollar amounts and htf's and the like, the only feeling I have is that you should be willing to accept whatever wish is granted from the list you post. If you post a list of sticks that range from $10-$25 and someone steps up and knocks out the $10 stick...that's it, turn over, next batter. In other words, if you weren't willing to accept the $10 stick then don't put it on your list. Your list should consist of sticks that hold an equal desirability for you, such that you'd be content with whichever of them you get.

I agree. Even though this thread is in its 26th page, it's still a concept that's in development. However, I do believe that it's stable enough that we can just let the wishes be wishes. Matt, your comment is witty but wise.

Let 'er roll, gentlemen.

Wilkey

AA,

Unless someone wants to step up, this will continue to be an unmanaged thread.

I do agree with your point about putting up wishes that you would be delighted receive, whether that's one stick or four. If you really only want one, then by all means, put it up and see what response you get. This thread should not be about getting "a stick" but more about getting "the stick."

Wilkey

Damn Wilkey....that girl is beautiful! And so is the one in your sig tag

So who exactly is up for a wish?

Jim

I'll add a couple to the original list to maybe speed this along and not let it sit idle.
Keep in mind I know half of these are "longshots" but why not at least list em

Wishes:
Toast Across America Opus X
Casa Fuente Torpedo
Zino Platinum Crown Series Chubby
Padron 1926 40th Anni
Fuente Between The Lines
Padron Millenium
Sandshark

I've got a 40th in the humi if you don't get it covered. I'll check back tomorrow evening.

So, unless someone steps up before altercall signs back in tonight, it looks like he has it covered.

Damn Yardgnome02 absolutely blew my #@it away, wow Bro, you went WAAAY past the call of duty, Outstanding

Wyatt, I think you said it best in about 4 different post.

This is a wish list, put your wish out there and let it ride. It will get granted, or if not regroup and try again.

There seems to be a lot of HTF being ask for....really is any one surprised by this??
I can find Padron 2000 everywhere, why would I as for someone to pay 5 bucks shipping me a $3 cigar.
Would I like to see some easy to find smokes being ask for, well hell yes I would. But that is because my Humidor is not as deep as others. But, every now and then, I am sure I will get lucky and some one will ask for a "surprise me" wish or a "whatever" wish and I will be able to PIF. Until then I will keep lurking in here hoping to make someone happy.

Just some thoughts from a Newb

Tim

damn typos...bad spellers of the world untie...
