I'll add a couple to the original list to maybe speed this along and not let it sit idle.
Keep in mind I know half of these are "longshots" but why not at least list em

Wishes:
Toast Across America Opus X
Casa Fuente Torpedo
Zino Platinum Crown Series Chubby
Padron 1926 40th Anni
Fuente Between The Lines
Padron Millenium
Sandshark
I don't have the 1926 anny but I do have a 1926 Padron if that would do.

Jon, I have every 1926, including the 80th Anni, but the 40th is the only one I haven't tried, nor ever seen. Nor the millenium (if thats a 26)

I may have a line on 1.If my lead pans out I'll get it for you.Even if someone else fills your wish with a different cigar I'll send it to you if I find it.

I have a Zino Plat Sceptre Chubby (perfecto). If you're still lookin for that one.

Looking for the Crown series chubby, not the scepter. Scepter Chubby is hands down one of my favorite smokes, Which is why I'd like to try the crown.

I didn't realize having many options would make this difficult. Ill give it the rest of the night and tomorrow afternoon and I'll stray away from the wishes to things i smoke regularly, but will give it a little while longer. I've been dying to try anyone of those that is listed since I have not yet had the pleasure and am not within 2 hours driving of anyone that does.

Wishful thinking

Sorry if my wishes are slowing this down gents, that's why I put as many as I could think of up there.

5. Generally speaking, it's in poor taste to ask for something ultra rare and expensive when you've granted a wish for something much more modest. Sometimes you might get lucky but you don't want to hold up the thread for challenging wishes although there is no limit to what you may wish for.

This may be what's slowing it down.

Gentlemen,

I don't think I intended for Rule #5 to straightjacket the MaWPIF. Some differential clearly must be allowable otherwise the longterm trend would eventually lead to cigars costing $0.00. I had hesitated to put a specific guideline on what an allowable differential might be simply because I did not want the burden of researching prices to be quite as heavy as in a traditional pass. This is a nod to the "wish" component of the PIF.

So what do you guys think? Is this a problem that needs a resolution of some sort? What would you suggest?

Wilkey

It's cool to see the HTF's granted from time to time, but those lists keep a lot of folks out of the game. If they were posted less frequently, more people could participate in this thread.

Here's my 2 cents Wilkey. If someone grants someones wish with a $10 cigar for example then wishes for a $15 cigar....not a big deal.

If someone grants a $10 cigar wish and then asks for $25 cigar wish, I still don't have a big issue with it if someone wants to grant it. The problem arises when it becomes a trend. Keep in mind....just because someone wishes it, doesn't mean you have to grant it.

The problem I have is the "hurry up" mentality that's going on. It feels like there are some wish vultures, if you will, out there that are pressuring folks to change their wishes. I say let it go a little bit and give people a chance to have their wish reviewed before posting "let's get this on, already". It just feels to me that there is a sense of hurry to this thread all of a sudden.

But to answer your question Wilkey, it doesn't bother me. If you don't want to grant a guy his wish because you feel that it's out of line with what he just granted to someone else......then don't :)

I think it's pretty simple, if you really want a $25 stick or a very rare stick, you may simply have to wait until you can fulfill a wish that is "in that ballpark".

That is one thing I've noticed as I check in to see if I can grant a wish. There seems to be a need to get the wish done within a half hour of it being posted. Yeah, it would be great if it happened all the time, but it's just not realistic. If that were the case, this would run it's course within a couple weeks, with everyone on the board having a wish granted.

I don't see a problem with a wish bing up there for a day or so. Not everyone can check the board everyday (slackers!). But maybe tomorrow someone will sign on, check the thread, and have a cigar that's wished for.

Just my $00.02 as I watch.

Damn Jeff, you'd think I was stoned or something in that pic in your sig tag!

So, you are saying you are not stoned? ??? Up for a lie detector test?

This thread is being worked by a few. Some of you guys are waking up, washing your face, brushing your teeth, packaging a stick, nada, nada...every day...LOL
Wish for a Genie

What a great line!

So does considering Rule #4 together with Rule #5 cover it then?

4. If no one grants your wish, make an alternate wish or expand your cigar wish list in a timely fashion. This is especially true for those who are looking for harder to obtain cigars. A suggested guideline is that if you receive no response to your wish within 24 hours, you consider expanding or changing your list. Be attentive to the flow. If the wishes-grants are cycling quickly then stick to 24 hours. If the PIF is in a lull, feel free to leave the wish out for longer.

This is a wishlist/PIF I don't see a problem with making a wish for a HTF no matter what you have granted to get the wish although when posting a HTF I think you should also post a not so HTF along with it and be respectable to the members here and not hold out for the HTF and hold up this PIF. It has been my experience that cigar lovers are giving people I always like to pass on some of my favorite smokes and the people on this forum are very generous also so I don't think it's bad to wish for something just don't hold up the thread. Just my opinion.

Yep, I think you wrote the rules correctly the first time Wilkey. Here's my short answer:

1. Wish for whatever you want, just realize that if you granted a less "valued" wish than what you're now asking for that many may not care to grant your wish.

2. 24hrs guys.......Let a wish hang out 24hrs before you start beating up someone to change it up. This isn't a race.

My perspective is simply this, If you can grant the wish, fine, if you cannot, fine, But I don't think it is alright to brutalize someone because they asked for a HTF. We can sit here all day and pull the rules out of context to help support our points of view, but as Wilkey pointed out we should view all of the rules and apply them ALL not just one rule that stands out.

I definitely don't feel it needs to be a straight dollar for dollar value on what is granted and then wished for. This is a wish list so you can wish for what you want. If you wish for a Millenium and get it, so be it, be thankful someone granted your wish. I think the biggest thing that needs to be addressed is that once you grant a wish, have your wish and maybe a backup ready and be realistic so when you make that post the PIF can keep moving.
