That call no parent ever wants to get...

Man Garry I am really sorry to hear that, but I am so happy she is alive. I will keep her in my prayers!!!

Happy to hear she is safe Gary! All my best to your Daughter and your Family!

Brother, let me say this...

As an attorney who has handled a significant amount of roll-over and crashworthiness cases, I sent a special prayer of gratitude up after reading this thread, that your daughter is (for the most part) safe and sound. Call it what you will, but favor and blessing were truly bestowed upon your little girl. I can tell you that I have handled roll-over cases involving relatively small amounts of speed (e.g., 30 mph), and if the people weren't killed, they were left brain-dead or quads. Had one involving a 16 year old girl, passenger, now a quad with a lifetime of care that neither she nor her parents can comprehend. She had just gotten a new horse too, and had been a tri-state champion barrel racer previously. The driver, a 17 year old girl, was banged up, but fine. On their way to school, five minutes away, in a rural community. Utterly tragic.

Not to thread jack here at all...but this could have gone so devastatingly wrong, so very easily. That A-pillar held up well and it looks like she didn't suffer too many revolutions - from what I can tell by the pics - it looks like it might have just been one full roll (4 parts to one rollover actually - side, roof, other side, back to wheels), judging from the direction of the scratch marks on the hood, and by the way roof collapsed. Could be a bit more than one full roll, but that's still one too many.

Thank God brother, thank God. My continued thoughts and prayers will be with your entire family.

I got kinda sorta one of those calls a few months ago, my 16yo totaled my Nissan Titan, but she was the one that called me, and i didn't realize how bad the wreck was until i got there, then it really scared me. Thank God she was not hurt, and thank God your daughter is ok!

Gary:

Sorry to hear about the accident..........glad to hear she is gojng to be okay!

Pictures like that always make me cringe!

Must be something awful to get that call. I'm changing my mind about giving my 15 year old her permit next month

Best wishes on a speedy recovery

Yikes! :0 That had to be a scary call!

It's good to hear your girl is ok though. You can get a new car any day of the week, but the operator was absolutely irreplaceable. SOMEBODY is sure watching out for your family. It's good to have a Friend in high places. :)

Wow! Glad all is well Gary..........................You know what I mean.

Glad to hear that she is doing well. That was one hell of an accident. It took a miracle for her to walk away from that. Thank God for it.

Thanks to everyone for your well wishes and kind words. We've been getting good news from the doctor and the dentist. Looks like she'll be fine in a few weeks.

Now the fun part begins.....

???

Glad to hear things are OK. My own daughter removed the entire rear half of her mother's Impala SS a few years back. Shaken up, but OK. So, I certainly feel your pain!

Does this ever happen with sons?

Cheers,
antaean

Bumped to add one thing....

My daughter read through this thread yesterday and wanted me to give you all a sincere thank you from her. She was touched by your concern and moved by the depth of your responses. She is healing nicely and will be back to work in about a week or so.

While she was still in the hospital, we shared with her the overwhelming amount of support we had already received from friends and family, even in the early hours. The number of supportive phone calls, people dropping in just to give us a hug, and the emails of well wishes were just amazing. The response to this thread was just a continuation of that outpouring.

Thank you all sincerely from both of us.

Gary & Jessica

Allow me to join the chorus of relief that your daughter is OK. As a father, I know exactly how much a call like that can bring you to your knees.

WOW!

I'm so glad you still have her!

Smoke your best cigar buddy... smoke your best cigar...

I'm going to go hug my Daughter now.
