@Corneighdo has been afk and @thinde has asked to have his squares randomly assigned (I'll do that at the end). So I'm going to open it up for @Puros Locos , @dawgie34203 , @whopper and @bfreebern until 12pm pst to claim squares. At which time I'll figure out a random way to assign squares (I really don't like that option, but we need to move forward.

I will be using https://www.draftkit.com/assets/pages/free-box-game-number-generator.html to pick the point totals during the vherf time. I'll try to share my screen for transparency sake.

As @Le Primauguet stated, we're only 5 squares short of a full board. If anyone else wants to up their wager that'd be great. If not, I'll use a random number generator using our entry position as the identifier and randomly pick a number/person each remaining squares and decrease the payouts by 2 sticks at the end of the 1st quarter and 1 stick for the remaining winners. I'll be using https://www.random.org/ for square assignments.

I'm pleased with how we've been able to get this thing as full as we have on short notice. You guys rock! I must say, Super Bowl squares doesn't quite feel the same without @Acclaym , I hope all is well!

Since @Corneighdo hasn't been seen in this thread for a couple weeks I would say just move on and let him pick when he responds or just assign his randomly as well?

For future reference, I'm in a couple other squares and the host just uses draft kings to assign everything, squares and numbers. We had 90 spots spoken for so he just named the last ten "TBD" and whoever took them went by that moniker.

That's a good point. That's why I opened it up for everyone else. I don't know his situation (family emergency, work, etc.) and I want to give him the opportunity to choose for himself. That's what I'd want if it were me.

Personally I like to have control over what squares I get so I don't have anyone to blame, but myself if I lose. I like your idea though, especially if the board doesn't fill up quickly. I'm willing to keep up the tradition next year and will be post it up much sooner. If we can't fill it up, I'll see about using a more randomized approach. Last year's main Super Bowl contest filled up so quick! That's why I started a second one so more people had a chance to participate in the fun. With the cost of CC as high as they are, I can understand why the main contest didn't run.

I appreciate everyone's patience and grace as I navigate through being fair and transparent.

I used to feel that way but since the two point conversion, the lengthened PAT, and the numerous rule changes to increase scoring, the basic numbers aren't a distinct advantage like they used to be. It used to be that 5-8 was a death nail, now those numbers are in play after the first 10 minutes.:confused:
