smoking in winter...heating required!

My buddy in So-Cal has the one Wurm listed...he loves it.

Oh - this one is what I have (along with an electric 220 shop heater ) in my garage.

The Mr Heater Big Buddy takes the chill out..and has a fan. It's great for closed areas...the other one is probably a better radiant heater for a deck or balcony

I love my Mr. Heater Big Buddy. You can use small cylinders or a 20LB tank. Also you can get an adapter for a 20LB tank to refill the small cylinders.

Anyone else find it enjoyable to smoke in the car, heater on, while its parked in the driveway... ???

Yeah, I thought it sounded crazy too... then I tried it. Despite the occaisonal eye from the neighbor, like you are doing something illegal, its pretty damn practical.

mac

edited to add... TOB-RO... Why are you shouting? ???

I do that quite often in the winter.

I own a 1982 jeep that I got for 50 bucks at auction. I like to sit and listen to the radio while enjoying a cigar from time to time.

Most of the time I am away from home when I smoke, so I deal with the weather.

For a small area, I'd think something like this would be the bomb.

I still think you're a weenie, though....... :p

That's exactly the type of heater I was suggesting. They have other models that even have battery operated fans so you can direct the heat. They are very compact and do a great job. The cylinders last about 7 hours in mine running at full blast on a February day in the fishing shack (we're talking below zero temps). You could probably get through the whole "winter" in SoCal with a six pack of cylinders.

Only problem I see: "Provides comfortable warmth whether indoors or in a tent" - he's on a porch, right?....they make these too for golf carts...with adapters to fit in the cup holders...Too Funny!

cold... in southern California... um...

ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?!?!?!

Note the 'white stuff' on the ground... I wish I had your 'cold temperatures' young buck!!

Might I suggest a firepit? The heaters are so blah and no fun. Nothing like the snap crackle and pop of real wood burning. I'm getting one myself, to ward off the SUB ZERO temps I have to deal with in Alaska...

Welcome to CP by the way

So what are summers like for you? A hell-like 65 degrees? :D

I grew up in Kentucky and spent a lot of time in Chicago and Michigan. I now live in San Diego. Yes, So Californians do NOT know what it is like to be in the REAL cold.

On one of those "cold nights" in SD, I was out on my patio shorts and short sleeve shirt with 55 degree weather. My wife is from LA and was outside with sweat pants, sweat shirt (long sleeves), jacket, blanket and sitting by the fire pit.

If you get the one with a fan you can direct the heat your way. It's the same catalytic heating process, but the fan makes it more suitable for balcony use.

I'd still just put on a sweatshirt or something, though.

This thread spurred me to get an electric oscillating heater from Target today. $40, I tested it inside and that bugger puts off heat. Will probably test it out tomorrow. I will be using it in the stairwell that goes down into my basement outside...we'll see how it goes.

Got a break-thru today. Member fivebyfifty is hooking me up with a heater he found lying around. Such generosity! I will let ya'll know if this one satifies my sissyboy So. Californian needs!!

Thanks everyone! Special thanks to fivebyfifty. You rock! (keep an eye on your mail in the near future... :whistling: )
